In a surprising turn of events, the Lexus LS has been discontinued in the UK market after nearly three decades of presence.
This decision comes as a result of declining sales. In 2024, Lexus managed to sell only 3 units of the LS to UK customers. Since 2020, a mere total of 39 Lexus LS vehicles have been purchased by UK consumers.
Currently, Lexus offers only the ES sedan in the UK, alongside a range of SUVs and Crossovers, including the LBX, UX, NX, RZ, and RX, as well as the Limousine Minivan LM.
Itโs not just the Lexus LS that is facing challenges in the European market. Traditional sedans with internal combustion engines are losing their appeal to European consumers. The segment has witnessed a significant drop in sales, with consumers favoring more practical options such as Crossover and MPV vehicles, such as the Lexus LM.
Despite its discontinuation in the UK, the Lexus LS continues to be sold in other markets worldwide, including Japan, North America, and select European countries.
In Vietnam, the large luxury sedan is available in two versions, the LS 500 and LS 500h, priced at 7.68 billion VND and 8.39 billion VND, respectively.
