A-segment car sales table for Jan 2025 (unit: cars)

Hyundai Grand i10: 211 units

In January 2025, Hyundai sold 211 Grand i10s to Vietnamese customers, a decrease of 71.9%. Although it had the highest sales decline in the segment, the Hyundai Grand i10 remained the best-selling A-segment car in Vietnam for January 2025.

Hyundai Grand i10

The Hyundai Grand i10 currently offers 6 versions, with prices ranging from 360 to 455 million VND. In addition to its affordable price, this A-segment car is also a popular choice for many customers due to its well-equipped features within the segment.

Accordingly, the Hyundai Grand i10 is equipped with daytime running LED lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, and side mirrors with turn signal indicators. In addition, the car also has an 8-inch central touch screen, supports Apple Carplay/Android Auto connectivity, a navigation map system dedicated to the Vietnamese market, a start/stop button, and a smart key.

The “heart” of this Korean car is the 1.2L Kappa gasoline engine with a maximum capacity of 83 horsepower and a maximum torque of 114 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Wigo: 197 units

Ranking second in the A-segment in January 2025 was the Toyota Wigo. This model sold 197 units in the past month, a decrease of 21.8%.

Toyota Wigo

Since the beginning of 2025, the Toyota Wigo in Vietnam has only had one version, the G, priced at 405 million VND. Meanwhile, the standard E version, priced at 360 million VND, has been discontinued for import to Vietnam. Compared to the two Korean rivals, the Toyota Wigo has fewer versions, and the starting price is also higher.

On the other hand, the design and equipment of the Toyota Wigo are not inferior to its competitors in the same segment. This model features LED headlights, electrically adjustable and foldable side mirrors, 14-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch central touch screen, and a 4-speaker audio system. In addition, the car also possesses rare safety features in the segment, such as the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) systems.

The “heart” of the Toyota Wigo is a 1.2L engine, combined with a Dual-CVT automatic transmission. This engine delivers a maximum output of 87 horsepower and a maximum torque of 113 Nm. The disappearance of the E version also means that the car no longer has a manual transmission option.

Kia Morning: 32 units

Similar to previous months, the Kia Morning also ranked last in the A-segment with only 32 units sold, a decrease of 17.9%. Compared to its rivals, the Morning has some disadvantages in terms of equipment, such as the lack of LED headlights and Cruise Control. In addition, the car’s design and equipment have not been upgraded for a long time.

Kia Morning

Some notable equipment of the Kia Morning includes daytime running LED lights, LED taillights, electrically adjustable and foldable side mirrors with turn signal indicators, 14-15-inch wheels, an analog instrument cluster integrated with a multi-information display, leather seats, an 8-inch central screen, a 6-speaker audio system, and automatic air conditioning.

The Kia Morning is powered by a 1.25L Kappa gasoline engine, delivering a maximum output of 83 horsepower and a maximum torque of 120 Nm, paired with a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.

This model currently has 5 versions, with prices ranging from 349 to 424 million VND, the lowest in the segment.
