After more than a year of being brought back to Vietnam, millionaire Minh Nhua’s McLaren Elva, worth nearly VND 200 billion, has finally received its license plate.

According to images revealed by businessman Pham Tran Nhat Minh, the license plate on the McLaren Elva starts with the number 51N, while the rest of the number remains undisclosed. This has sparked speculation among netizens that the full license plate could be 51N-004.05, which would be a logical continuation of the license plate on his other supercar, a Pagani Huayra with the plate 51L-004.05.

If this speculation is correct, then Mr. Minh would have acquired the license plate 51N-004.05 for just VND 40 million through an auction held in October last year. It is understood that at the time, there was only one bidder for this particular license plate.

This McLaren Elva, owned by the plastic industry tycoon, is valued at a staggering USD 8 million (approximately VND 190 billion), due to its unique, customized nature. Developed by McLaren Special Operation (MSO) and French-Vietnamese artist Hom Nguyen, the car is one of a kind.

To comply with Vietnamese regulations, the McLaren Elva had to be fitted with a windshield, which is a departure from its original design as a speedster without a roof or windshield. Powered by a V8 twin-turbo engine with a capacity of 4.0 liters, the Elva boasts an impressive 804 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission delivers all this power to the rear wheels, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds.

The McLaren Elva is a limited-edition model, with only 149 units produced globally. Millionaire Minh Nhua is among the select few in the world to own this exclusive supercar.
