Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) embarks on the “Toyota Journey – Journey of a Million Smiles” program.

In this journey, 10 Toyota Hybrid vehicles, along with over 100 members of Toyota Vietnam, dealership staff from across the country, and experts from Toyota Asia and Japan, will embark on a trip from the North to the South of Vietnam, conquering the country’s four extremes, traversing 38 provinces and covering over 5,000 km in 20 days. This event marks the beginning of a series of activities leading up to the 30th anniversary of Toyota’s establishment and development in Vietnam.

The Toyota Journey – A Journey of a Million Smiles with the participation of 10 Toyota Hybrid vehicles

The ‘Toyota Journey – Journey of a Million Smiles’ draws inspiration from the Toyota 5 Continents Drive, first held in Australia in 2014. For this project, Toyota members will test-drive different car models, placing themselves in challenging and harsh conditions, and immersing themselves in diverse cultural environments across five continents. The ultimate goal is to create “better-than-ever vehicles” that meet the diverse needs of customers worldwide. In the Toyota Journey – Journey of a Million Smiles, 10 hybrid versions of 05 models, including Camry, Corolla Altis, Yaris Cross, Corolla Cross, and Innova Cross, along with over 100 members from Toyota Vietnam, dealerships nationwide, and experts from Toyota Asia and Japan, will set off from the Toyota factory in Vinh Phuc province. They will conquer Vietnam’s four extremes, covering a total distance of over 5,000 km and passing through 38 provinces within 20 days, from February 17, 2025, to March 8, 2025.

Besides the goal of exploring and getting closer to the culture and people of Vietnam, the Toyota Hybrid vehicles will also showcase their performance capabilities in diverse terrains, including the challenging conditions of mountainous regions and flooded plains. This journey will also provide valuable feedback for product quality improvement, in line with the spirit of “Continuous Improvement” to create better products that meet the evolving needs of customers.

In the Vietnamese market, Toyota views the Hybrid line as a practical and suitable solution for the current conditions. Hybrid vehicles combine a gasoline engine with an electric motor, offering fuel efficiency, environmental friendliness, and powerful performance. Most importantly, they are not limited by infrastructure constraints and can help change consumer habits. Through the Toyota Journey – Journey of a Million Smiles, TMV once again emphasizes that its hybrid models can conquer various terrains while delivering superior fuel efficiency. As of the end of January 2025, over 15,000 Toyota Hybrid vehicles have been chosen by Vietnamese customers, accounting for approximately 20% of the total sales of the six models with hybrid versions.

Through continuous product and service improvement, Toyota has always strived for innovation to contribute to the economic and social development of Vietnam. The year 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of Toyota Vietnam, coinciding with numerous milestones for Toyota, including the significant achievement of TMV accumulating sales of 1 million vehicles. To commemorate this occasion and express gratitude to its customers and partners for their trust and companionship, the company is planning various activities.

Activities in the “Toyota Journey – Journey of a Million Smiles”

Over the past 30 years, Toyota has not only brought millions of vehicles to Vietnam, enabling people to move freely across the country, but has also continuously contributed to the sustainable development of the community. These efforts are evident through various meaningful programs, ranging from supporting education and technical skills training to music education, tree-planting initiatives, and raising awareness about road safety.

The “Toyota Journey – Journey of a Million Smiles” is not just a trip but also a journey of spreading positive values to the community. At each stop, the team will organize charitable activities, reaffirming Toyota’s commitment to being a model corporate citizen and contributing to societal development.

At Lung Cu Flag Tower, Ha Giang – the northernmost point of the country, a special art class will be held for children in the highlands. Accompanying them is Le Khanh Linh – a contestant who won the silver prize in the 2012 Toyota “Dream Car” art contest, offering the children an inspiring creative experience.

At Vinh University – The team will visit the Toyota Technical Training Center, a collaboration between Toyota and Vinh University to enhance the quality of automotive repair training. Notably, the exchange program will feature the participation of Dr. Nguyen Van Trieu, a former scholarship recipient of the Toyota Technical Scholarship in 2007, who is now the Director of Materials Science at Danang University of Technology.

In Phu Yen – The team will visit Tran Hung Dao Secondary School, one of the “Toyota Green Schools.” This program demonstrates Toyota’s commitment to environmental protection. The team members will interact with the students and present meaningful gifts to contribute to a greener and more spacious library.

In Ca Mau – The journey’s final stop is Dat Mui 2 Elementary School, where children commute to school by boat. The team will donate life jackets, books, and other practical gifts, bringing joy and safety to the children on their journey of knowledge.

The “Toyota Journey – Journey of a Million Smiles” is more than just a trip; it is a journey of sharing, spreading love, and inspiring the younger generation to build a brighter future for the community.
