Toyota Vietnam has announced a recall of the Alphard model to replace the bonnet lid. According to Toyota Vietnam, a total of 10 Alphards are included in this recall. These vehicles were produced from November 2, 2020, to November 21, 2020. Thus, the affected Toyota Alphards are all older models.

The reason for this recall of the MPV, nicknamed the “land jet,” is that during use, the bonnet lid cover may deform due to temperature changes. This can lead to cracking and loosening when repeated pressure is applied to the bonnet lid cover’s fitting. If used in this state, the bonnet lid cover may fall off the vehicle and obstruct other vehicles on the road.

The “Land Jet” Toyota Alphard in Vietnam is being recalled due to the risk of bonnet lid detachment while driving.

Affected customers will receive a notification from Toyota warranty and maintenance centers, inviting them to bring their vehicles for inspection. Based on the inspection results, the bonnet lid will be replaced free of charge. The estimated inspection and repair time is approximately 0.4 hours per vehicle.

Toyota Vietnam advises customers with vehicles affected by this program to promptly take their vehicles to any Toyota warranty and maintenance center nationwide for a free inspection and replacement. To save time, customers can proactively contact the Toyota Warranty and Maintenance Center to schedule an appointment before bringing their vehicles for inspection.

The recall program will be officially carried out by Toyota Vietnam from March 7, 2025, at all authorized maintenance and warranty centers nationwide.
