It’s already been over two months into 2025, but dealerships still have inventory of cars produced in 2023 (with a 2023 VIN). To clear out these older models, dealerships are offering massive discounts. A prime example of this is the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

Specifically, a dealership in Hanoi has offered a discount of up to VND 285 million for the 2023 VIN Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. After the discount, the price of the 4×2 standard version is just under VND 910 million. Meanwhile, the most expensive 4×4 version is priced at less than VND 1.1 billion.

On the other hand, another dealership in the Da Nang area is offering the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 4×4 for less than VND 1.2 billion. So, the discount for the highest-end version at this dealership is at least VND 165 million compared to the listed price.

Of course, these heavily discounted 2023 VIN Mitsubishi Pajero Sports will have limited quantities and color options. Additionally, they will likely face further depreciation when resold.

In the past few months, Mitsubishi has consistently cut promotions for the Pajero Sport. This could be a sign that dealerships are running low on stock and that this mid-size SUV is due for an upgraded version.

Back in March 2024, Mitsubishi introduced a new version of the Pajero Sport in the Thai market. With this upgrade, the car received a mild redesign and additional features.

Specifically, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport was fitted with a new grille and 18-inch alloy wheels. The front and rear bumpers have also been improved over the previous version.

The highest-end version will feature a black gloss exterior package, including details such as the grille, raised Pajero Sport lettering on the hood, front and rear bumpers, mirror caps, shark fin antenna, roof rails, alloy wheels, door handles, roof spoiler, and trim on the rear hatch.

Meanwhile, the interior of the car has been upgraded with a new three-spoke steering wheel, similar to the Mitsubishi Xforce. The highest-end version of the Pajero Sport will feature a new 8-inch digital instrument cluster, while the lower-end version will retain the analog instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display.

The most significant change to this mid-size SUV is its engine. The Pajero Sport now features a 2.4L MIVEC 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 183 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. This engine is shared with the new-generation Mitsubishi Triton and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and either rear-wheel drive or Super Select 4WD ll.

Mitsubishi has not yet announced any information regarding the launch of the upgraded Pajero Sport in the Vietnamese market.
