In a surprising turn of events, some people recently spotted the Lambretta X-Series and G-Series scooters being transported on the streets of Vietnam. This development indicates that the iconic Lambretta scooter brand is making a comeback in the Vietnamese market.

According to sources, Lambretta has established an official distribution partnership in Vietnam. The first batch of scooters from the brand has been imported into the country and is undergoing registration and inspection procedures before being introduced to Vietnamese customers in the second quarter of this year.

It is understood that Lambretta will initially offer the X-Series and G-Series models for sale. These scooters will be new competitors to the Honda SH and Vespa GTS in the market. The pricing of the Lambretta X-series and G-series is expected to be similar to that of the Honda SH, which currently ranges from 74 to 151 million VND, depending on the version.

Lambretta scooters are quite popular in the Thai market. The X-series and G-series models that will be distributed in Vietnam are also expected to be imported from Thailand.

In terms of design, the X-series showcases a sporty style with sharp and robust features, while the G-series embodies a blend of classic and modern aesthetics, appealing to those who appreciate a retro and luxurious look.

In Thailand, the Lambretta X line consists of two variants: the X200 and X300. The model spotted in Vietnam is believed to be the Lambretta X300, equipped with a 275cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a maximum power of 25.1 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 24.5 Nm at 6,250 rpm.

On the other hand, the G-Series offered in Thailand includes two variants: Series I and Series II. Both are powered by a 330cc liquid-cooled engine, generating 27-30 horsepower and a maximum torque of 27 Nm.

Lambretta previously distributed its scooters in Vietnam in 2011 but subsequently withdrew from the market and has been absent for many years.
