The McLaren P1, when launched in 2013, was a pioneer in speed and intriguing hybrid technology, competing with the likes of the Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. However, unlike its Italian rival, the P1 hasn’t seen a significant increase in value.
This has led RM Sotheby’s to estimate that this one-of-a-kind painted P1 will sell for between $1 million and $1.5 million, not far off its launch price. This is in stark contrast to used Ferrari LaFerraris, which now command two to five times their original price.
There have been several special P1s commissioned by customers, including some with exposed carbon fiber bodies and striking paint jobs. A select few were also finished in matte paint, but this P1, built for a collector in Qatar, is the only one painted in Satin Camo Green.
RM Sotheby’s is now offering this unique supercar for sale, noting that it still belongs to the original owner and has only 130 kilometers on the clock. Aside from being one of the lowest-mileage P1s in the world, its exterior finish also makes it one of the most distinctive.
Contrasting the green are several McLaren orange details, including the badges, brake calipers, center lock nuts, and P1 logo.
These McLaren Orange accents continue into the cabin, on the seats, steering wheel, and dashboard. It also features matching orange switches and plenty of exposed carbon fiber.
This impressive P1 has been a static display piece in the owner’s collection since delivery. There is no information provided about its maintenance history during this time, nor the condition of its twin-turbo V8 engine and battery pack, both crucial aspects for prospective buyers of a used McLaren P1.
