On February 21, 2025, the People’s Committee of Hue City and Vingroup signed a Memorandum of Understanding on comprehensive cooperation on green and digital transformation towards sustainable development goals and in response to the Government’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

According to the cooperation agreement, the People’s Committee of Hue City and Vingroup will jointly develop a program for green transition and green growth, aiming towards sustainable development in the period of 2025 – 2030. The two parties will invest in areas such as green tourism, green industry, green agriculture, green urban infrastructure, green transportation, and green lifestyle.

In the field of transportation, the People’s Committee of Hue City and Vingroup jointly launched the movement “Fierce Vietnamese Spirit – For a Green Future” and promoted the use of electric vehicles throughout the city. The two sides will have special policies to support local people, civil servants, state employees, and enterprises in purchasing or leasing VinFast electric vehicle models or using the Xanh SM electric taxi service. In addition, the two parties will also research and implement a plan to use electric buses in the area, ensuring that it aligns with the local conditions, practical situation, and the government’s orientation for the green energy transition roadmap.

Notably, the People’s Committee of Hue City will consider providing support in planning and introducing installation locations for charging stations to V-Green Company, as well as deploying mechanisms to support the development of charging infrastructure across the city.

The two sides will also jointly research cooperation in the fields of green industrial park development, carbon credit projects, digital transformation, culture, conservation, healthcare, green infrastructure, and the use of green capital, investment promotion, enterprise support, and community awareness-raising communication campaigns.

At the same time, the People’s Committee of Hue City and Vingroup will research and discuss each other’s strengths in other fields such as real estate, social housing, services, tourism, industry, education, and information technology in the city.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue City, said: “Vingroup has been a pioneer in the field of Green Transition with the VinFast electric vehicle ecosystem and green public transport means. The cooperation between Hue City and Vingroup creates important opportunities to promote Hue City’s leadership in green, digital, and sustainable development goals. At the same time, this cooperation is also an opportunity for Vingroup to research and maximize the strengths that the Group has affirmed in the ancient capital of Hue.”

Representing Vingroup, Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Group, said: “Today’s signing ceremony of the comprehensive cooperation agreement on green transformation marks an important milestone at the beginning of a promising cooperation journey between Hue City and Vingroup. Vingroup wishes to accompany Hue in researching solutions to promote green and digital transformation and sustainable development, thereby improving the quality of life of the people and promoting the local economy towards sustainability.”
