The Hummer H2 is an imposing SUV that was manufactured by AM General under contract with General Motors from 2002 to 2009. Based on the GM GMT820 platform, the H2 stands out with its aggressive looks, always attracting attention wherever it goes.

Owners of the Hummer H2 are often rappers, car enthusiasts, or collectors, but there are also older gentlemen who are captivated by its unique design. One such individual, a retired businessman from Hanoi, shared his passion for the vehicle when he went to view a bright orange H2 that was on sale for nearly 3 billion VND.

This particular Hummer H2 not only stands out with its bright orange paint job but also features black matte accents, creating a striking contrast. The interior has been customized with a vibrant orange theme, including the seats and ceiling.

In terms of dimensions, the Hummer H2 has a length ranging from 4,821 mm to 5,169 mm, depending on the model, a width of 4,821 mm, and a height of 1,976 mm for the 2002-2003 models, and 2,007 mm for the 2004-2009 versions. Its wheelbase measures 3,119 mm, and the vehicle weighs in at 3 tons.

Nicknamed the “Desert King” and the “Gas Guzzler,” the Hummer H2 certainly lives up to its names. With its distinctive design, performance, and fuel consumption, it’s no wonder that it turns heads and raises eyebrows. In Vietnam, there are almost 10 Hummer H2s, one of which has been modified to have six wheels.

Despite its intimidating exterior, the luxury SUV surprisingly lacks sophistication when it comes to its interior technology. Standard features include tri-zone climate control, leather seats, front and rear heated seats, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls.

For entertainment, the Hummer H2 is equipped with a premium Bose sound system, a CD/cassette player, and a 6-disc CD changer (added in 2004). From 2008 onwards, the vehicle featured an MP3-capable CD player, an auxiliary input jack, and a DVD player, along with an outside temperature indicator, a compass, and rear radio controls.

Safety features include an independent front torsion bar suspension, cruise control, a 5-link coil spring rear suspension specifically designed for the H2, oversized Hummer tires, a multi-purpose garage door opener, and remote engine start (2008–2009).

Under the hood, the Hummer H2 is initially powered by a V8 engine with a displacement of 6.0 liters, later upgraded to 6.2 liters. This engine produces a maximum output of 316 to 393 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and a peak torque of 495 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

The vehicle is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission for the older models, and from 2008 onwards, a 6-speed automatic transmission. This gives the Hummer H2 a respectable acceleration time, reaching 100 km/h in just 9.1 to 10.9 seconds.
