A number of brands and dealerships are currently offering attractive promotions to clear stock of 2024 production vehicles (2024 VIN) still on their lots. A prime example of this is the Suzuki Jimny.
A dealership in the Hanoi area is offering the 2024 VIN Suzuki Jimny at a significantly reduced price of around 700 million VND. This is a discount of nearly 90 million VND from the listed price of 789 million VND.
Dealership slashes nearly 100 million VND off the Suzuki Jimny to cut losses.
This is the highest discount offered since the Suzuki Jimny’s launch in the Vietnamese market back in March 2024. Previously, Suzuki offered a 50% discount on registration fees and a 20 million VND cash gift, totaling up to 60 million VND in savings for buyers of this compact SUV.
Currently, there are no 2025 VIN Suzuki Jimny models available in Vietnam. Of course, the discounted 2024 VIN vehicles at dealerships will have limited quantities and color options.
In Vietnam, this SUV, dubbed the “mini Mercedes-Benz G-Class,” hasn’t seen impressive sales figures. From its launch in March 2024 to February 2025, the Jimny sold only 472 units cumulatively. In February 2025 alone, it sold just 19 units, once again landing it on the list of the 10 worst-selling cars in Vietnam.
The reason for its lackluster performance in Vietnam is likely due to its high price tag, which doesn’t quite match its size and features. Additionally, the car is imported from Japan in limited quantities.
The Suzuki Jimny frequently makes the list of worst-selling cars in Vietnam.
Despite its price being on par with C-segment SUVs like the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, and Ford Territory, the Suzuki Jimny only offers B-segment dimensions and a 4-seat interior. It comes with features such as LED headlights, 15-inch alloy wheels, a spare tire mounted on the rear door, an analog instrument cluster with a small multi-information display, a grab handle for the front passenger on the dashboard, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Autolink, USB, and Bluetooth Control Music Play, among others.
Under the hood, the Suzuki Jimny is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 101 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque. This engine is also found in its sibling, the Suzuki XL7.
The engine is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system called AllGrip Pro, which includes a low-range transfer case. The vehicle also offers the flexibility to switch between 2WD and 4WD modes.
Overall, with its eye-catching exterior design reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and a true SUV ladder frame, the Suzuki Jimny is a unique option for those seeking a fresh, distinctive driving experience.
