Should You Buy a New or Used Car with a 300 Million VND Budget?

If you’re in the market for a car and have a budget of around 300 million VND, you’ve come to the right place. Tri Thuc – Znews presents a list of new and used cars that fit your budget.

Limited New Car Options

With a budget of 300 million VND, including on-road costs, there are very few new car options available. The two most affordable cars on the market that fit this criteria are the Wuling MiniEV and the VinFast VF3.

Wuling offers the MiniEV in two variants. As of early August 2024, TMT Motors adjusted the price of the LV2 trim to 197-231 million VND. Previously, the Wuling miniEV LV2 was priced between 239-285 million VND.

Including on-road costs, the MiniEV LV2 will set you back around 222-256 million VND. As for the VinFast VF 3, it’s priced at 240 million VND if you choose the battery leasing option. Opting to buy the battery will increase the price to 322 million VND. With a budget of 300 million VND, the battery leasing option is the more feasible choice, costing approximately 265 million VND with on-road costs.

It’s important to note that these on-road cost estimates are applicable before March. After March 1st, there is an additional 10-12% fee for the road usage fee, depending on the registration location.

Used Cars: Hatchbacks and Sedans

With a budget of 300 million VND, you can consider used hatchbacks or sedans from the A-segment or B-segment. The Mitsubishi Attrage is a popular choice and can often be found on used car markets. It offers a spacious interior and a reasonable price tag.

For example, a 2021 Mitsubishi Attrage 1.2 MT is listed on a used car forum for 275 million VND. The seller claims the car has an ODO reading of around 70,000 km and has been upgraded with a new infotainment screen, leather seats, and window tinting.

The VinFast Fadil is another popular choice for those looking for a used car. A 2021 VinFast Fadil 1.4 AT can be found within the 280-290 million VND price range, depending on the seller. This model is quite rare in the used car market, so you may need to spend some time searching for a good deal.

According to Cho Tot Xe, the average price of a used VinFast Fadil can reach up to 327 million VND if it’s in good condition and has low mileage.

Another option to consider is the Hyundai Grand i10. The sedan variant of the Grand i10, with a manual transmission and a 2021 model year, is typically listed on forums within the range of 264-287 million VND. Prices can go up to 285-338 million VND for a 2022 model year vehicle.

For those looking at the 300 million VND budget range, the Kia Morning with a manual transmission from 2021-2022 is also worth considering. Used car dealerships offer the Morning MT from 2021 for around 235-254 million VND. Opting for a newer 2022 model will likely cost between 250-270 million VND.

There are other options available within this budget range, spanning different segments and model years. However, purchasing a car that is more than five years old may not be the most practical choice. Depending on your needs and usage, it’s essential to weigh the options between a new, affordable car or a used car with a newer model year to optimize your costs and driving experience.
