Neymar has just announced his return to former club Santos following the termination of his contract with Al Hilal. In Brazil, the 1992-born player is currently commuting via helicopter as he hasn’t chosen a residence near the football field yet.
The helicopter used by the Brazilian player is an Airbus H-145, assembled by the Mercedes-Benz and Airbus Helicopter joint venture. Neymar had ordered the H-145 back in 2019 and customized some design details on the exterior.

The entire body and tail of the H-145 are covered in black paint, inspired by the Batman character from DC Comics’ series. The insignia on the body has been changed to the player’s name abbreviation “PP-NJR”. The tail of the helicopter also features a stylized version of Neymar’s name abbreviation.
The Mercedes-Benz Airbus H-145 is equipped with two Turbomeca Arriel 2E engines, each producing 900 horsepower. It has a range of 640 km and a maximum speed of 240 km/h.
The H-145 was purchased by the player for approximately 10 million EUR, which is over 10.3 million USD. The distance between Santos’ training ground and Neymar’s current residence in Mangaratiba (Rio de Janeiro) is 500 km. As a result, the player has to spend over two hours and $600 per trip to commute via helicopter.
While the cost may not be an issue for Neymar, the lengthy travel time and the noise of the helicopter are not ideal. It is likely that Neymar will soon purchase a villa closer to the football field to facilitate easier commuting.
