The issue not only affected the main GWM brand but also extended to its sub-brands, Wey and Tank, as they share the same system. This glitch caused significant inconvenience to car owners in various regions across China.
Upon discovering the problem, GWM issued a statement acknowledging the server issue: “Due to a server fault, some users of the five brand apps and the GWM app may be unable to log in or use the apps normally. Our technical team is working diligently to resolve the server issue, and functions are gradually being restored.” The company also advised users to carry their mechanical keys as a backup to avoid any inconvenience caused by the app malfunction.
By 5 pm on the same day, GWM had successfully resolved the system error, ensuring that all applications were functioning normally.
