The pricing for the Geely EX5 in Vietnam has not been disclosed yet. However, according to Tasco Auto, the authorized distributor of Geely vehicles in the country, this electric SUV is anticipated to be priced around 750 to 850 million VND.

The electric SUV Geely EX5 will be available in Vietnam in the second quarter of this year, priced above 700 million VND.

The Geely EX5 was first unveiled in the Chinese domestic market back in May 2024. It is also known as the Proton eMas 7 in Malaysia and the Galaxy E5 in China.

The EX5 is Geely’s first model developed based on the company’s Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) platform. It boasts dimensions of 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. This positions the EX5 as a competitor to the BYD Atto 3 and VinFast VF 7 in the Vietnamese market.

Externally, the Geely EX5 showcases a sleek and aerodynamic exterior design with smooth curves. This results in an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.275 Cd. Additionally, this electric SUV features a closed-off grille, sleek headlights, small triangular air intakes at the corners of the front end, a continuous taillight strip, and 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, depending on the trim level.

The high-end variant of the EX5 comes with additional features such as an active shutter for the central air vent in the front bumper, an electric tailgate, a panoramic sunroof with a sunshade, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats with memory function, ventilated front seats, a 256-color ambient lighting system, and a Flyme Sound Wanos 16-speaker audio system, including headrest-mounted speakers.

There are also 33 storage compartments scattered throughout the interior, such as under the rear seats, under the rear air conditioning vents, and under the two-tier center console. Additionally, the EX5 offers a generous cargo capacity of 461 liters, which can be expanded to 1,877 liters by folding down the rear seats.

In Malaysia, the EX5 is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor that delivers a maximum output of 218 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. This enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 175 km/h.

The standard variant of the EX5 uses a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 49.52 kWh, offering a range of 345 km on the NEDC cycle. On the other hand, the high-end variant is fitted with a larger 60.22 kWh battery, providing a maximum range of 410 km on a single charge.

The Geely EX5 can travel over 400 kilometers on a single charge.

Both battery options support slow AC charging at 11 kW, taking 4.9 hours for the standard battery and 6.1 hours for the high-end battery to fully charge. Additionally, they support fast DC charging at 80 kW for the standard battery and 100 kW for the high-end battery, allowing a charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes. According to Geely, a 10-minute charge can provide enough power for 135 kilometers of driving.

Geely has announced that, in addition to the Coolray, they will be launching three more models in Vietnam this year, including the EX5 and Monjaro.
