Volvo has recently unveiled the mid-life refresh of its XC90 for the Southeast Asian market at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2025 in Thailand.
Overall, the design of the Volvo XC90 2025 in Southeast Asia is not drastically different from the version already launched internationally. Specifically, the front of the car impresses with a grille that no longer has vertical slats but is instead replaced by cross-hatched lines.
The headlights still bear the distinctive “Thor’s hammer” shape but are now designed to be sleeker and more modern. The air intake and front bumper have been redesigned to give the front of the XC90 2025 a more electric-vehicle-like appearance.
At the rear, the taillights are darkened with a flatter graphic design, paired with a subtly integrated rear bumper.
In terms of the interior, the layout of the Volvo XC90 2025 remains largely the same, but the design has been simplified and modernized. The central touchscreen has been upgraded to a larger 11.9-inch display, and the user interface and experience have been improved, similar to those found in the pure electric EX30 and EX90 models.
The XC90 2025 features a redesigned Bowers & Wilkins sound system with additional layers of sound-absorbing materials, delivering a more authentic and immersive audio experience.
The Volvo XC90 on display at BIMS 2025 is equipped with a plug-in hybrid T8 powertrain, delivering a combined output of 455 horsepower and 709 Nm of torque, along with a 14.7 kWh battery. The vehicle can travel up to 70 km on electric power alone.
