For Ford enthusiasts, the name Super Duty is already familiar as the moniker given to the heavy-duty version of the larger Ford F-Series pickup trucks. Now, the mid-size Ford Ranger also has its own Super Duty iteration. This version boasts a more robust and aggressive aesthetic, along with enhanced performance capabilities.

One of the most noticeable enhancements is the beefier appearance of the Super Duty. This model proves that a workhorse vehicle can still be visually appealing.
The Ford Ranger Super Duty features a unique grille design, setting it apart from the other variants in the Ranger lineup. It also sports a large front bumper, a sculpted hood with โSuper Dutyโ lettering, extended wheel arch cladding, A-pillar vents, and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in General Grabber all-terrain tires.

Inside the Super Duty, the interior closely resembles that of other Ford Ranger variants. It features durable plastic materials instead of soft-touch surfaces, cloth upholstery, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12-inch vertically oriented infotainment screen. The distinguishing feature of this version is the โSuper Dutyโ embossing on the dashboard, facing the front passenger seat.

The Ford Ranger Super Duty not only looks the part but also delivers impressive performance. Under the hood is a 3.0L diesel V6 Power Stroke engine, shared with the Wildtrak variant. While official performance figures have not yet been released, they are expected to surpass the current output of 250 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque.

Additionally, the Super Duty offers six driving modes: Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Mud/Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl. Fordโs advanced 4WD system with 4A (automatic 4WD) is also standard equipment.
To accommodate longer journeys, the fuel tank capacity has been increased from 80 liters to 130 liters, and it is protected by a thick steel plate. The engine, front differential, transfer case, and transmission are also shielded by impact-resistant steel plates.

True to its Super Duty name, this variant boasts impressive payload and towing capabilities. It has a gross vehicle mass of 4,500 kg, a towing capacity of 4,500 kg, and a combined gross vehicle and trailer mass of 8,000 kg.
Furthermore, the Super Duty is equipped with stronger front and rear drive shafts, a larger and more durable rear differential lock, and, for the first time in the Ranger lineup, Smart Hitch and Onboard Scales features. These innovative features help users balance trailer loads and estimate cargo weight using sensors in the suspension system.
The Ford Ranger Super Duty is scheduled to go on sale in Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand in 2026. It is unclear if Ford plans to introduce this model to the Vietnamese market. In Vietnam, the Ranger is currently Fordโs best-selling vehicle.
