As reported, in March 2025, the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) sold a total of 31,750 cars, a growth of 47% compared to the previous month and 16% over the same period last year. Meanwhile, VinFast delivered more than 12,100 electric cars to domestic consumers, a slight decrease of 3.2% from the previous month. Hyundai Thanh Cong, on the other hand, saw a sales figure of 5,368 units, a significant increase of 77.6% from February 2025.
The upward trend of the Vietnamese automobile market in March 2025 is evident from the list of the 10 best-selling models. In the past month, no model in the top 10 sold fewer than 1,000 units.

10 best-selling car models in Vietnam in March 2025 (in units)
Specifically, the best-selling model in Vietnam in March 2025 was the VinFast VF 5. This electric car model sold an impressive 4,400 units, a growth of 45.6%. With these sales figures, the VF 5 surpassed its sibling, the VF 3, to become VinFast’s most popular model.
Not only did the VF 5 perform well, but VinFast also contributed another model to the top 10 best-selling cars in Vietnam in March 2025, the VF 3. This model ranked second, just behind the VinFast VF 5, with sales of 3,700 units, a decrease of 28.8%.
The model in third place in the top 10 was the Mitsubishi Xpander. This small MPV sold 2,530 units, a growth of up to 140.2%. Thus, the Xpander was not only Mitsubishi’s best-selling model but also the leader in the MPV segment. Additionally, the Mitsubishi Xpander was the best-selling internal combustion engine model in Vietnam in March 2025.
The next position belonged to another familiar name, the Ford Ranger. In the past month, Vietnamese consumers purchased a total of 1,536 units of this pickup truck, an increase of 38.2% over February 2025. Thanks to these figures, the model once again led the pickup truck segment in Vietnam.
Ranking fifth in the top 10 best-selling cars in Vietnam in March 2025 was the Toyota Yaris Cross. This B-segment SUV achieved sales of 1,185 units, equivalent to a growth rate of 312.8%. It was also the best-selling model of the Toyota brand and the leader in the B-segment SUV market in Vietnam.
The third VinFast model in the top 10 was the VF 6. In the past month, Vietnamese consumers bought 1,100 units of this B-segment electric SUV, a decrease of 45% from the previous month. Therefore, the VinFast VF 6 also lost its “best-seller” position in the B-segment SUV category to the Toyota Yaris Cross.
Following the VinFast VF 6 was the Mazda CX-5, with sales of 1,099 units, a growth of 19%. Similar to previous months, this model continued to lead the C-segment SUV market in Vietnam. It is also the best-selling Mazda model in the country at present.
The owner of the eighth position in the segment was the Ford Everest. This D-segment SUV sold 1,074 units, a growth of 41.3%. Not only was it the second best-selling model of the Ford brand, but the Everest was also the number one choice in the D-segment SUV category in Vietnam.
The Hyundai Accent ranked ninth in the top 10 thanks to sales of 1,049 units, a growth of 130.5% over the previous month. With this result, the Hyundai Accent has become the best-selling model in the B-segment sedan category in Vietnam, surpassing both the Honda City and the Toyota Vios.
The remaining model in the top 10 was the Tucson, another representative of the Hyundai brand. Sales of this C-segment SUV reached 1,046 units, a growth of 159.5%. The Hyundai Tucson is currently the second best-selling model in both the Hyundai family and the C-segment SUV category.
In April 2025, the Vietnamese automobile market is expected to continue its recovery. Many car manufacturers and dealers are offering attractive incentives to stimulate demand.
