The Kia Carnival mid-life facelift was introduced in Vietnam in September 2024 with four variants: Luxury, Premium 8-seater, Premium 7-seater, and Signature, with no longer a petrol engine option. However, dealerships are still offering attractive discounts on the older petrol engine variant to clear stock.

On the official Kia Vietnam website, the older Carnival model is still listed, with only the 3.5G Premium 7S variant available. The listed price for this model has been reduced to 1.759 billion VND, a 90 million VND decrease from the previous price. However, as this is an older “form” and it has a petrol engine, some dealerships are offering even more attractive discounts to clear stock.

Specifically, a sales consultant offered a Kia Carnival 3.5G Premium 7S VIN 2024 with a discount of up to 120 million VND, bringing the actual price of the car down to 1.639 billion VND. Compared to the initial listed price of 1.849 billion VND, the total discount offered on this car is up to 210 million VND. However, the remaining stock is limited, and these cars are mainly being sold as “clearance stock,” which to some extent reflects the low demand for large petrol engine vehicles in this period. Even with the discounts, this older petrol engine variant is still more expensive than all the new diesel engine versions currently on offer.

The biggest difference between the older Carnival and the new facelifted model is in their powertrains. While the 2024 Carnival only offers diesel 2.2L and hybrid 1.6L turbocharged engine options, the 3.5G Premium 7S still features a 3.5L V6 petrol engine that produces 269 horsepower and 331 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Although it delivers a powerful driving experience, the fuel consumption of this engine is a concern for many customers. According to the manufacturer, the car consumes an average of 9.5 liters/100 km in a mixed cycle, and up to 13.5 liters/100 km in urban conditions. This figure is hard to justify for consumers who are increasingly considering operating costs.

In terms of amenities, the Kia Carnival 3.5G Premium 7S retains the impressive features that were highly regarded: business-class seats, dual 12.3-inch screens, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, tri-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and two large sunroofs… The high-end version is also equipped with advanced safety systems such as ADAS and a 360-degree camera, providing an experience that rivals that of newer models.

In parallel with clearing stock of the older petrol engine model, dealerships are also offering discounts on the 2024 mid-life facelift Carnival. Specifically, the hybrid version is offered with a 50 million VND discount, while the diesel engine version has a 20 million VND discount. Thanks to these discounts, the starting price of the 2024 Carnival is now 1.279 billion VND, helping the car maintain its appeal in the premium family car segment.
