Similar to many other segments, the MPV segment also witnessed growth in most of its representatives. In fact, only one model experienced a decline in sales in March 2025, which was the Hyundai Stargazer.

Mitsubishi Xpander: 2,530 cars
In March, the Mitsubishi Xpander showed strong growth with a rate of 140.2%. Specifically, the sales of this small MPV reached 2,530 units, leading the segment. Moreover, the Mitsubishi Xpander is also the best-selling gasoline and diesel car in the Vietnamese market.

This result is probably due to the continuous application of official promotions for this model over the past few months. In April 2025, the Mitsubishi Xpander continues to be offered with a 50% registration fee discount for all three versions: MT, AT, and AT Premium, with values ranging from VND 28 to 33 million. In addition, the MT version also comes with a rearview camera worth VND 2.5 million. The AT version includes a fuel voucher worth VND 10 million, while the AT Premium version is equipped with a 360-degree panoramic camera worth VND 20 million. The total value of incentives for this small MPV reaches VND 53 million. The promotion program for the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is identical to that of the Xpander AT Premium, but with a total value of VND 55 million.
In addition to the official promotions, the Mitsubishi Xpander also attracts customers with its reasonable price range, from VND 560 to 698 million, eye-catching design, spacious 7-seat interior, and adequate equipment.
The Mitsubishi Xpander is equipped with a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces a maximum capacity of 105 horsepower and a maximum torque of 141 Nm. The engine is paired with front-wheel drive and a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.
Honda BR-V: 629 cars
March 2025 witnessed the strong rise of the Honda BR-V. Accordingly, the model achieved sales of 629 units, a growth rate of 184.6%, ranking second in the MPV segment.

This result is probably due to the support program for registration fees of up to 100% for the L version and 50% for the G version of the Honda BR-V. Unfortunately, in April 2025, this promotion was discontinued, and the car only offers a fixed interest rate of 3.9% within the first 12 months when borrowed through VPBank or VIB.
The Honda BR-V in Vietnam is currently priced from VND 629 to 705 million. Compared to other competitors in the small MPV segment, the Honda model does not have a price advantage. However, it makes up for this with its eye-catching SUV-like design, standard advanced safety features, and highly-rated driving experience.
The Honda BR-V is powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder DOHC gasoline engine that delivers a maximum capacity of 119 horsepower and a maximum torque of 145 Nm. The engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.
Toyota Veloz Cross: 586 cars
Ranking third in the MPV segment in March 2025 was the Toyota Veloz Cross, with sales of 586 units, a growth rate of 60.9%.

Similar to the previous month, in April 2025, the Toyota Veloz Cross is supported with a 50% registration fee, with a value not exceeding VND 32 million and VND 33 million, depending on the version. In addition, there is also a preferential interest rate of only 5.99% per year.
Like the Honda BR-V, the Toyota Veloz Cross impresses with its eye-catching SUV-like MPV design, versatile 7-seat interior, and adequate convenience and safety equipment. Moreover, it also has an affordable price range, starting from only VND 638 to 660 million.
The “heart” of this model is a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces a maximum capacity of 105 horsepower and a maximum torque of 138 Nm. The engine is paired with a CVT transmission and front-wheel drive.
Kia Carnival: 556 cars
The fourth position in the MPV segment belonged to the Kia Carnival, with sales of 556 units, a growth rate of 23.2%.

In April 2025, the Kia Carnival is offered with a discount of VND 50 million for the hybrid version. After the discount, the price of the Carnival 1.6 Turbo Hybrid Signature is VND 1.799 billion. Other versions of the line are given a one-year physical insurance package.
The Kia Carnival in Vietnam has a high price range, from VND 1.299 to 1.849 billion. However, it still has stable sales thanks to its attractive design, equipment, and spacious 7-seat interior, along with a fuel-efficient engine.
Especially, the Kia Carnival is also one of the few models in the MPV segment with a hybrid engine. This model is equipped with a hybrid powertrain that includes a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbocharged SmartStream engine, an electric motor, a lithium-ion polymer battery with a capacity of 1.49 kWh, and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The total output of the car is 242 horsepower, and it only consumes an average of 4.95 liters of gasoline per 100 km.
In addition, there is also another engine option: a 2.2L 4-cylinder DOHC Smartstream diesel engine that produces a maximum capacity of 199 horsepower and a maximum torque of 441 Nm. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

The Toyota Innova Cross ranked just behind the Kia Carnival with sales of 494 units, a growth rate of 27.9%. Among these, 195 units belonged to the fuel-efficient hybrid version.

Since March 2025, the Toyota Innova Cross has quietly increased its price to VND 825 million for the gasoline version and VND 1.013 billion for the hybrid version. Compared to the old price, the car is now VND 15 million more expensive. However, this change does not seem to have affected the sales of this imported Toyota model.
The Toyota Innova Cross boasts a robust SUV-like MPV design. In addition, the car also has good equipment, even in the standard version.
Under the hood of the Toyota Innova Cross are two engine options. The first is a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a maximum capacity of 172 horsepower and a maximum torque of 205 Nm. The engine is paired with a Direct Shift CVT automatic transmission. The second option is a hybrid powertrain that includes a 150-horsepower gasoline engine, a 111-horsepower electric motor, and a CVT automatic transmission.
Kia Carens: 320 cars
In March 2025, Vietnamese customers bought 320 Kia Carens, an increase of 14.6% compared to the previous month. Compared to its sibling, the Kia Carnival, the Kia Carens has significantly lower sales despite its much lower price.

Previously, the Kia Carens had seven versions and three engine options. However, on the homepage of Kia Vietnam, this MPV model currently only has four versions with prices ranging from VND 634 to 764 million and two engine types.
The first engine is a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a maximum capacity of 113 horsepower and a maximum torque of 144 Nm. The engine is paired with an IVT continuously variable automatic transmission.
The second option is a 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that produces a maximum capacity of 138 horsepower and a maximum torque of 242 Nm. The power is transmitted to the wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Hyundai Stargazer was the only model in the MPV segment in Vietnam to experience a decline in sales in March 2025. The sales of this Korean model reached only 287 units, a decrease of 5.5%.

In April, the Hyundai Stargazer has a program of official discounts. However, this program only applies to the 1.5 AT Standard, 1.5 AT, and 1.5 AT High versions produced in 2024.
The Hyundai Stargazer is currently one of the most affordable MPV models in the Vietnamese market, with prices starting from only VND 489 to 599 million. On the other hand, its design is not highly evaluated.
