At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, Zeekr unveiled preliminary details about its upcoming hybrid SUV, the Zeekr 9X.

Positioned in the ultra-luxury segment, the Zeekr 9X impresses not only with its oversized dimensions but also with its powerful drivetrain and advanced technology, targeting high-end customers in domestic and international markets.

The Zeekr 9X boasts large dimensions with a length of 5,239 mm, a width of 2,029 mm, a height of 1,819 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,169 mm.

The overall design of the SUV exudes muscularity and takes inspiration from ultra-luxury SUVs such as the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, evident in its square-shaped front end, massive vertical slat grille, and slightly inclined D-pillars that convey a sense of solidity.

Zeekr 9X features the world’s largest monolithic grille, with a bottom width of 1,245 mm. Meanwhile, its clamshell hood spans an area of 2.15 square meters, also claimed to be the largest in the automotive industry today.

While Zeekr has not disclosed interior details, they revealed that the 9X features rear doors that can open up to 80 degrees, the widest among current electrified SUVs. This design enhances accessibility to the third-row seats and underscores the vehicle’s ultra-luxury and practical orientation.

The Zeekr 9X is the brand’s first hybrid model, combining a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine (producing 279 horsepower) with two electric motors located at the front and rear axles, resulting in an all-wheel-drive system. The total system output reaches 898 horsepower. The SUV can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 3 seconds and attain a top speed of 240 km/h.

Notably, the vehicle can travel up to 380 kilometers purely on electric power (according to the CLTC China standard), the highest range ever recorded for a hybrid. It is equipped with CATL Xiaoyao batteries and a 900V electrical architecture, enabling fast charging from 20–80% in just 9 minutes. Although battery capacity has not been disclosed, the fast-charging performance indicates potential for extended usage without range anxiety.

The Zeekr 9X is fitted with the G-Pilot H9 automated driving system, offering Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities, including steering control, lane changing, and handling complex urban traffic situations. Its two-chamber air suspension allows for height adjustment, providing an additional 110 mm of ground clearance, peaking at 288 mm.

While Zeekr has not yet revealed interior amenities, given its ultra-luxury positioning, experts anticipate the 9X to feature high-end technologies on par with SUVs from brands like Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Mercedes-Maybach.

According to information at the exhibition, the Zeekr 9X will go on sale in China starting in Q3 2025. Rumored pricing places the starting point at 500,000 Chinese yuan, approximately 1.78 billion VND.
