The all-new Jeep Compass has arrived with comprehensive changes to its design, technical foundation, and powertrain.
While retaining its distinct Jeep styling with characteristic sharp angles, this model has transitioned to the new STLA Medium platform, shared with the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, replacing the old Fiat-Chrysler structure.
Overall, the 2026 Compass maintains some signature elements such as the iconic 8-slot grille, but with a refreshed look. It features sleeker, horizontal headlamps flanking the front, complemented by an X-shaped taillight design that connects through a glowing Jeep logo, creating a striking visual signature.
The body retains its rugged appeal with generous black plastic cladding around the wheel arches and lower bumpers. Certain versions will offer a contrasting black roof, matrix LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels. For off-road enthusiasts, smaller wheel options are available to optimize performance.
The 2026 Compass upholds Jeep’s heritage in off-road capability. It boasts a maximum ground clearance of 20 cm, approach and departure angles of 20 and 15 degrees respectively, and a breakover angle of 26 degrees. With a water-wading depth of up to 47 cm, it demonstrates impressive potential beyond paved roads.
In contrast to its mildly updated exterior, the Compass’ interior marks a significant “leap forward” in design. All variants feature a supersized 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system, paired with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Despite the large screens, Jeep has retained physical buttons and controls for more intuitive operation.
In this generation, the 2026 Compass offers increased rear legroom with an additional 5.6 cm, 45 liters of cabin storage, and a cargo capacity of 550 liters (up by 45 liters) with the 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats.
Jeep offers a range of powertrain options for the Compass 2026: mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric.
The standard Compass 2026 delivers 145 horsepower from an undisclosed gasoline engine, enhanced by 48-volt technology. The plug-in hybrid variant produces 195 horsepower, while the three EV versions span from 213 horsepower in the front-wheel-drive model to 375 horsepower in the AWD variant. Jeep’s newly developed rear motor enables the vehicle to climb a 20% gradient even when the front wheels have no traction.
The AWD EV can travel up to 650 km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge, while the FWD model with a 74 kWh battery offers a range of 500 km.
Jeep has also engineered a flat underbody, aerodynamic wheels, and active grille shutters to enhance efficiency. Fast DC charging at 160 kW enables charging from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
