According to Carscoops, the new generation of Toyota Tacoma is creating a buzz in the US with a staggering 188.2% sales jump in March, totaling 23,949 units. This popular truck continues its impressive performance with a growth of over 177% in the first quarter.

In March, the Toyota Tacoma was the brand’s third best-seller in the US, outperforming other renowned models. Its sales figures trailed only behind the Toyota RAV4 (41,509 units) and Toyota Camry (29,661 units), leaving the Toyota Corolla (21,495 units) in its wake.

Almost all of Toyota’s sedans in the US, including the Camry, Corolla, Crown, and Mirai, witnessed a decline in sales. The Toyota Crown experienced a significant drop of 66.8%, and remarkably, not a single Mirai was sold during the month of March.

Sales of the Toyota GR86 dipped by 16% to 1,146 units, while the Toyota Supra saw an 11.4% decrease to 179 units. The Prius stands as the lone bright spot in this lineup, boasting a remarkable 77.4% surge in sales for the first quarter.

In the SUV segment, the discounted bZ4X seems to have spurred growth, with a 102.9% increase in sales, reaching 1,678 units. The Toyota Corolla Cross also experienced a healthy 39.8% sales growth, while the Toyota Highlander suffered a 52.1% decline.

As per Carscoops, Toyota’s overall sales in the US for March stood at 196,240 units, marking a 6.6% year-over-year increase. Cumulatively, from the beginning of the year until the end of March, Toyota sold 487,226 vehicles in the US, reflecting a modest 0.1% growth.
