According to the latest report from multinational market research firm Mordor Intelligence, Xanh SM maintained its leading position in the Vietnamese taxi and ride-hailing market in Q1 2025 with a market share of 39.85%, widening the gap with the second-place player, Grab (35.57%). This result not only demonstrates the steady growth of the domestic electric taxi brand but also reflects Vietnamese users’ preference for green transportation options.

Xanh SM leads the Vietnamese taxi and ride-hailing market with a 39.85% market share, according to Mordor Intelligence

Xanh SM excels in all three critical criteria

Per Mordor Intelligence’s Q1 2025 research report on the Vietnamese ride-hailing and taxi market, Xanh SM currently dominates in daily ride volume, gross merchandise value (GMV), and customer satisfaction.

A user survey conducted in Q1 2025 highlighted Xanh SM’s strengths, including clean cars, polite drivers, a straightforward booking process, and a user-friendly app. Additionally, safety features such as the proactive safety monitoring system (S2S) implemented across all vehicles have enhanced user trust and confidence.

Many customers anticipated Xanh SM’s top ranking, given the growing popularity of the Vietnamese electric taxi brand in provinces and cities and its consistently high-quality five-star service. “I always feel secure riding with Xanh SM. The cars are clean, and the drivers are well-mannered. With the addition of the safety monitoring system, I feel even more at ease,” shared Ms. Le Thu Trang from Cau Giay District, Hanoi.

For frequent business travelers like Mr. Tran Manh Cuong from Ho Chi Minh City, nationwide coverage and consistent quality are significant advantages. “Xanh SM is available in most major provinces and cities, which is very convenient for my work trips and meetings with partners. The car and service quality remain consistently excellent”, he asserted.

Setting a New Standard in Passenger Transportation

Xanh SM not only offers a comfortable and safe traveling experience but has also become the go-to choice for environmentally conscious consumers. As air pollution worsens, Xanh SM’s electric taxis are a proactive choice for many Vietnamese who want to take action for the environment.

In 2024, Xanh SM users contributed to reducing nearly 150 million kg of CO2 emissions, equivalent to the annual photosynthesis of seven million trees. This amount corresponds to an area of over 2,300 hectares of forest land.

Xanh SM is trusted for its quality service and environmental friendliness

Thus, the electric taxi model not only meets user demands but is also recognized for its positive impact on urban infrastructure, helping reduce emissions, noise pollution, and traffic congestion. Vietnam’s National Green Growth Strategy for the period of 2021 – 2030 aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector by at least 30% by 2030, with electric and clean energy vehicles as a key pillar.

From a holistic perspective, urban transport expert Nguyen Duc Thinh believes that Xanh SM’s solid number one position in the market, outpacing its competitors, is not only a result of sound business strategies but also a positive indicator for the development of sustainable transportation in Vietnam.

Most recently, Xanh SM expanded its network by partnering with Taxi G7, a well-known taxi company in Hanoi, bringing the total number of transport partners to nearly 100 in 61 provinces and cities. This green alliance is a significant strength, enabling the brand to maintain and further extend its lead over other market players.
