Vingroup and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Sign a Memorandum of Understanding for Comprehensive Cooperation on Air Quality Management and Green Growth
The two parties will work together to monitor and improve air quality, promote green growth and sustainable transportation, as well as develop domestic and international carbon markets.
As per the agreement, Vingroup and the Ministry will cooperate comprehensively in various fields to contribute to the goal of building a greener Vietnam.
They will collaborate to implement an environmental monitoring system in Hanoi, utilizing technology and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions developed by VinUni University for data analysis, and air quality warning and forecasting. Additionally, Vingroup and the Ministry will jointly conduct public awareness campaigns on air pollution to enhance community understanding.
The collaboration also aims to boost green growth, particularly in the fields of transportation and construction. Furthermore, Vingroup and the Ministry will work together to participate in and develop domestic and international carbon markets.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, its staff, and affiliated agencies will prioritize the use of environmentally friendly electric and green fuel vehicles, including those from VinFast, and the Xanh SM electric taxi service, to promote green transformation and sustainable development.
In return, Vingroup will support the Ministry, its staff, and affiliated agencies in green transformation activities, implementing air quality monitoring and management projects in Hanoi, and raising community awareness about environmental protection, especially air quality.
Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, shared: “Vingroup is aware of its responsibility and pioneering role in accompanying society in the green transformation journey. Mr. Le Cong Thanh, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, stated: “The Memorandum of Understanding signed today is a strategic step forward, focusing on four key issues and laying the foundation for long-term cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and Vingroup. This cooperation will further motivate Vingroup and the private sector to engage and align with the Government’s initiatives, creating values in the era of advancement towards the goals of clean air quality, green growth, and sustainability.”
