According to statistics from the organizers of the 46th Bangkok International Motor Show (Bangkok Motorshow – BIMS 46th), after a 12-day event, the participating brands received a total of 77,379 car bookings, a remarkable 44.8% increase compared to the previous exhibition. Notably, on the last day of BIMS 46th, automakers secured 14,560 car bookings.

New energy vehicles accounted for over 65% of the total bookings. BYD led the exhibition in sales with 9,819 orders, closely followed by Toyota with 9,615, and Honda with 5,948 bookings.

Several luxury car brands also received notable bookings, including Porsche (75 units), Aston Martin (4 units), and Rolls-Royce (4 units).

BYD was the brand with the most bookings at BIMS 46th.

In 2024, the Thai automotive market witnessed domestic sales of 572,675 units, averaging around 48,000 cars per month. The Thai government had high hopes that the motor show would boost the country’s struggling automotive industry.

And indeed, BIMS 46th delivered impressive results. Within just 12 days, the number of car bookings exceeded the monthly sales average, paving the way for new growth opportunities for the automotive industry in the “Land of Smiles” this year.
