Toyota has recently unveiled the 6th generation RAV4, introducing the all-new GR Sport variant.

The new Toyota RAV4 GR Sport has been developed with direct input from engineers at the Gazoo Racing performance division, the brains behind the success of the GR Supra, GR Yaris, and GR86. Their influence extends beyond aesthetics to include chassis, suspension, and driving dynamics.

The RAV4 GR Sport stands out with its high-performance-inspired details. It boasts a GR Corolla-inspired grille, a muscular redesigned front bumper, and a large roof spoiler, a rare feature on a compact SUV. The 20-inch alloy wheels further enhance its robust and sturdy appearance.

The vehicle offers a Supersonic Red paint option with a contrasting black roof, giving it a distinct sporty flair that’s sure to turn heads.

Inside, Toyota maintains its characteristic minimalist philosophy while subtly incorporating Gazoo Racing elements: the GR logo adorns the steering wheel and headrests, along with aluminum pedals and shift paddles mounted behind the wheel.

While the overall structure remains similar to the standard version, the GR Sport’s interior exudes a sense of solidity and character through refined materials and decorative details. These upgrades signify that the GR Sport is not just a SUV with sporty looks but also delivers a unique driving experience.

The RAV4 GR Sport’s standout feature is its powertrain. Toyota has equipped it with a 2.5L gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, resulting in a plug-in hybrid system that delivers a combined output of 320 horsepower. This potent drivetrain is coupled with standard all-wheel drive.

Although Toyota hasn’t released official acceleration figures, the RAV4 GR Sport’s impressive power promises to surpass the performance expectations of a compact SUV.
