The high-performance electric vehicle, BYD Denza Z9GT, has recently made a surprise appearance in Vietnam.

Speculations suggest that the presence of the Z9GT could be intended for an internal event or a technology display by BYD in the near future.

Denza Z9GT is a premium GT (Grand Tourer) electric vehicle, designed in the shooting brake style – a combination of coupe and station wagon aesthetics.

With dimensions of 5,180 x 1,990 x 1,500 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, the Z9GT surpasses both the length and width of the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo, one of its direct competitors.

In terms of design, the front of the Denza Z9GT stands out with its dual LED headlights and bold cuts that run along the body, creating a modern and sporty profile.

The Denza Z9GT‘s interior borrows elements from other premium BYD models such as the Seal and Han, evident in its crystal gear knob and central area with wireless charging. The cabin features a predominantly pink-beige color scheme, exuding elegance. Following the trend of tech-focused interiors in Chinese automobiles, the Z9GT is equipped with an array of digital screens.

Powering the Z9GT are three electric motors that produce a combined output of 950 horsepower and 710 Nm of torque. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. A 100 kWh battery provides energy for a range of approximately 630 km on a single charge.

In the Chinese market, the Denza Z9GT is expected to go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year, with a starting price ranging from $47,900 to $59,200 (approximately $1.24 billion to $1.53 billion VND).

While BYD has not disclosed the specific purpose of bringing the Z9GT to Vietnam, it is likely part of their product marketing and technology demonstration strategy, similar to their previous approach with the Yangwang U8 all-electric SUV.
