BMW Unveils the Concept Speedtop at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025

Unlike many concepts that are mere showcases, the Speedtop is not just a design statement but a real product, set to enter limited production with only 70 units worldwide.

The Speedtop is based on the design of the beloved Concept Touring Coupe, which sadly never made it to production.

It boasts a two-door wagon-like silhouette with bold and dynamic styling. The front end showcases the latest BMW design language, featuring a glowing kidney grille, sharp lighting graphics, and a distinctive “shark nose” profile.

The entire roof is painted with a subtle color-shifting effect, transitioning from Floating Sunstone Maroon at the front to Floating Sundown Silver at the rear. A contrasting center stripe runs from the hood to the roof and spoiler, emphasizing the overall length and sophistication of the design.

The BMW Concept Speedtop is fitted with 14-spoke two-tone wheels, combining aerodynamic efficiency with a striking aesthetic touch.

The interior of the BMW Concept Speedtop is a showcase of modern luxury, featuring a two-tone color scheme of Sundown Maroon and Moonstone White. The “spline” lighting effect seen on the exterior is continued on the roof, creating a striking light trail that runs through the cabin, showcasing a consistent and refined design philosophy.

A notable improvement over its predecessor, the Skytop, is the Speedtop’s more spacious and functional two-tier luggage compartment. This area is meticulously trimmed in handcrafted leather, featuring its own lighting and subtle Brogue detailing, a nod to the fine art of handcrafted shoe-making, reinterpreted by BMW for the automotive realm.

While BMW has not disclosed detailed engine specifications, they have confirmed that the Speedtop will be equipped with the most powerful V8 engine currently offered in their lineup. This is likely the twin-turbo 4.4L V8, producing around 617 horsepower, as seen in the previously introduced Skytop model.

Despite its impressive performance credentials, the Speedtop is an exclusive offering, with only 70 units planned for production, reserved for select customers. BMW has confirmed that the model will not be sold in the US market. The price has not been announced, but it is expected to be out of reach for most automotive enthusiasts.
