After seven years on the market and two mid-cycle refreshes, the Lexus ES has finally received a full model change. Despite the previous updates, the design of this luxury sedan seems to have fallen out of favor with consumers.
According to Motor1, the 2025 Lexus ES is expected to make its global debut on April 23 at the Beijing Auto Show in China. Lexus has also released teaser images and videos of the new sedan, although the design is not fully revealed yet. The ES 2025 is predicted to adopt a more youthful design, taking cues from its stablemate, the Lexus RZ electric crossover.
The new ES features LED daytime running lights in a swoosh shape reminiscent of the Nike logo, full-width taillights, and a sleeker roofline, giving it a sportier appearance. All indications suggest that the ES 2025 will retain its traditional sedan silhouette instead of adopting a liftback design as previously speculated.
Notably, a charging port is visible near the front door, hinting at the possibility of new powertrain options for this luxury sedan, including hybrid or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants. The ES is also expected to offer a longer wheelbase and a more spacious cabin, catering to the preferences of Chinese consumers.
Specific details about the engine specifications and pricing of the 2025 ES are not yet available. However, according to industry sources, the new ES is likely to go on sale in international markets towards the end of this year or early 2026.
