Toyota has just unveiled the mid-life cycle upgrade for the Corolla Cross GR Sport.

With a host of design and dynamic tweaks, this urban hybrid SUV is expected to further solidify its position in the increasingly vibrant hybrid segment.

The 2025 Corolla Cross GR Sport sports a new, more athletic look, embodying the GR Sport lineage. It features sharp headlights, a redesigned grille, beefier front bumpers, and 19-inch alloy wheels with angular styling. The rear end has also been meticulously refined with LED taillights and a more aerodynamic rear bumper.

The Corolla Cross sold in the European market will continue to offer two engine options.

The first is the 1.8 Hybrid, combining a 1.8L gasoline engine (producing 98 hp and 142 Nm of torque) with a 1VM electric motor (generating 95 hp and 185 Nm of torque). The total system output stands at 140 hp, paired with an E-CVT automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The AWD variant adds a second electric motor (coded 1WM) for the rear axle, contributing an extra 41 hp and 84 Nm for improved traction on varied terrains.

The second option is the premium 2.0 Hybrid Dynamic Force, which pairs the M20A-FXS 2.0L engine with a 152 hp output and a more potent 113 hp 1VM electric motor. The total system output is an impressive 194 hp. Similar to the 1.8, customers can opt for the AWD system with an additional electric motor for the rear axle. Both variants utilize Toyota’s familiar E-CVT transmission.

As per the plan, the mid-life cycle upgrade of the Corolla Cross GR Sport will be delivered to European customers by the end of 2025.
