The capital city of Hanoi played host to an exciting gathering of automotive enthusiasts as two iconic supercars, the McLaren 765LT and the Ferrari 812 GTS, made an appearance together. The Ferrari 812 GTS, a recent arrival in the city, stole the show.

This convertible Ferrari 812 GTS is the second of its kind in the country and was imported through unofficial channels. It is likely to be registered with a special license plate due to its high price tag of over $900,000, equivalent to more than 23 billion VND.

At its launch, the Ferrari 812 GTS convertible was priced at over $450,000, or 10.5 billion VND. However, used models have seen a significant increase in value, with prices ranging from $100,000 to $250,000 depending on their condition and options.

The arrival of the second Ferrari 812 GTS convertible in Vietnam can be considered a treat for enthusiasts of the Italian marque. Previous high-end models such as the Ferrari 599 GTB and the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta were not offered in convertible variants for the mass market.

One of the key advantages of the GTS version is its retractable hardtop, which can be raised or lowered in just 14 seconds. This operation can be performed even while the car is in motion, as long as the speed is below 45 km/h.

The 812 GTS is currently the most powerful V12 convertible Ferrari available on the market. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine that delivers an impressive 789 horsepower and 718 Nm of torque.

Performance-wise, the Ferrari 812 GTS can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reach 200 km/h in 8.3 seconds, eventually topping out at a breathtaking 340 km/h. These figures match those of its hardtop sibling, the Ferrari 812 Superfast.

As for the McLaren 765LT, this limited-edition supercar was also spotted on the streets of Hanoi with the license plate 30L-518.88. It previously belonged to several well-known car enthusiasts, including a rare orchid collector from Cu Chi and a mysterious collector known as Jacky.

The McLaren 765LT features a stunning Paris Blue exterior with carbon fiber accents on the hood and rear wing. It rides on exclusive 10-spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, and its braking system is inspired by the McLaren Senna, featuring carbon-ceramic brakes.

The McLaren 765LT is not just a street-legal supercar, but also a thrill-inducing track machine. Compared to the McLaren 720S, it boasts noticeable design changes and weighs 80 kg less, contributing to its exceptional performance.

To achieve its ideal weight of 1,229 kg, McLaren removed standard features such as the audio system and air conditioning from the 765LT. However, customers can request to have these features included without incurring additional costs.

Following McLaren’s traditional naming convention, the number 765 in the model name indicates the limited production run of this supercar. The LT stands for ‘Long Tail’, a reference to the extended rear end of the vehicle. The McLaren 765LT is designed to be an even more formidable drag racing machine than the already impressive McLaren 720S.

At the heart of the 765LT is the familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine found in the 720S, but with a significant power boost. McLaren’s engineers have worked their magic to extract 755 horsepower from this engine, an increase of 45 horsepower over the 720S.

Additionally, the 765LT produces a mighty 800 Nm of torque, an increase of 30 Nm over the 720S. This extra power is delivered through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which has been refined for faster shifts, improving shift times by 15% compared to the 720S.
