Over the weekend, Honda officially announced the pricing for its new electric motorcycle, the Honda EM1 e:, in the Indonesian market. This comes after the initial debut of the bike at the GIIAS exhibition back in August 2023 in Tangerang, Indonesia.
According to Honda, the new EM1 e: is equipped with a motor that delivers a maximum power output of 1.7 kW to the rear wheel, providing performance comparable to a 50cc engine. In initial tests conducted by Kompas, the EM1 e: reached a top speed of 48 km/h over an 80-meter distance.
The bike has a compact design, measuring only 1,795 mm in length, 1,080 mm in height, and 680 mm in width, with a seat height of 740 mm. Weighing in at 95 kg, including the battery, Honda emphasizes that the EM1 e: is best suited for slow speeds and short-distance travel.

The Honda EM1 e: utilizes a lithium-ion Mobile Power Pack e: battery with a capacity of 50.26 V located under the seat, weighing 10 kg, and is removable and replaceable. Honda states that the battery is equipped with a safety lock to prevent displacement in the event of a collision, and its IP65 rating ensures dust and water resistance.
Honda provides an external charger that can charge the battery from 25% to 75% in 2.7 hours. It takes a total of 6 hours to fully charge the battery from empty, and the bike can travel up to 41.1 km on a single charge.
The EM1 e: features LED lighting, a front disc brake, a rear drum brake, under-seat storage with a capacity of 3.3 liters, a front storage compartment, and a hook for hanging items. It also comes with a USB charging port for added convenience.
The digital display cluster on this electric motorcycle will show essential information during use, including speed, distance traveled, operating mode, and battery percentage.
