In late 2024, Ford officially launched the upgraded version of its compact SUV, the Equator Sport, in China. Following this, the C-segment SUV has expanded its reach to other markets, with Brazil being one of the first countries outside of China to receive this updated model, rebranded as the Territory.

Similar to the Vietnamese market, the Ford Equator Sport in Brazil has been renamed as the Territory. Compared to its Chinese counterpart, the Ford Territory in Brazil and other global markets features subtle design changes on the exterior.
Expected to arrive at Ford dealerships in Brazil next month, the upgraded Territory also sports a redesigned front end, akin to the Equator Sport in China. It ditches the old split headlight design in favor of a new chrome-accented grille, along with restyled front and rear bumpers. Both bumpers feature body-colored accents instead of the black finish seen on the Chinese Equator Sport.

From the side, the C-SUV remains largely unchanged, retaining its length of 4,685 mm. However, it now sports new 19-inch alloy wheels and chrome door handles. The Chinese Equator Sport, in comparison, boasts 20-inch wheels on higher-spec models.

Inside, the Ford Territory 2025 maintains the familiar dual-screen setup, with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an infotainment system. Ford has introduced new seat upholstery options and a range of trim choices. Specific equipment details will be revealed when the SUV officially launches in the South American market.

This mid-cycle refresh of the Ford Territory does not bring significant changes under the hood. Therefore, the Brazilian market is likely to retain the 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing 166 hp and 260 Nm of torque.
The Ford Territory 2025 in Brazil will continue to offer front-wheel drive (FWD) and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In contrast, the Chinese Equator Sport now includes a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option.
In Brazil, the Ford Territory 2025 is introduced in a single Titanium trim. Pricing has not yet been disclosed, but the current model starts at BRL 215,000 (approximately USD 45,000), significantly higher than the pricing in Vietnam.
The upgraded Territory made its debut at the Interlagos Festival in São Paulo, Brazil. Ford reported a fourfold increase in sales for this model in the Samba country last year, surpassing 5,000 units. With the new model’s arrival, these figures are expected to continue rising.
Ford has high hopes for the new Territory, aiming to introduce it to various global markets, including Argentina, Mexico, the Philippines, Vietnam, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia. In recent months, the updated Ford Territory has also been spotted undergoing road tests in Vietnam, suggesting that its launch in the country is imminent.
