Recently, social media has been abuzz with images of a new SUV model that bears a striking resemblance to the VF 9, spotted within the premises of the VinFast factory.
Speculations are rife that this could be a special edition or an entirely new variant of the flagship VF 9 SUV. According to information from some sales consultants, this model is expected to be introduced around August 2025.
From the shared images, the new SUV sports a white paint job. It features a high-mounted LED positioning light in the shape of a “wing”, with the main headlights positioned lower, and a prominent grille-like detail on the front, despite it likely being an electric vehicle. Notably, this new SUV also sports a golden logo on the hood, reminiscent of luxury brands such as Rolls-Royce.
Previously, a similar-looking black SUV was also spotted, featuring a golden logo placed on the LED positioning light instead of the hood. At the rear, the vehicle sports a logo resembling wings, a stark departure from VinFast’s familiar “V” symbol. While it retains the signature VF 9 LED taillights, the overall design of the front and rear ends showcases a distinct evolution.
These changes suggest that this is not merely a decorative upgrade but potentially a special variant with a unique design direction.
Prior to the emergence of these leaked images, VinFast’s official fanpage posted a short video with the message: “June 20 – Get ready for a unique premium experience with VinFast VF 9“, accompanied by the phrase “Unique Masterpiece”. However, the vehicle in the video remains the original VF 9, devoid of the new design elements circulating online.
This has sparked speculation as to whether this will be a “unique” VF 9, similar to the VF 7 and VF 8 “Fire Dragon” editions, or a comprehensive upgrade encompassing both interior and exterior design.
According to sales consultants’ predictions, the new VF 9 variant will not only differ in appearance but also boast significant interior upgrades, targeting a higher level of sophistication to cater to the demands of high-end domestic and international customers.
The VinFast VF 9 is currently the largest and most luxurious electric SUV in the company’s portfolio. Introduced in 2022, the VF 9 is available not only in Vietnam but also in the US, Canada, and several European countries.
It boasts an impressive length, offering two interior configurations of 6-seater (captain chair) or 7-seater. Notable amenities include massaging seats with heating and cooling functions, rear-seat entertainment screens, tri-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium air filtration system.
Under the hood, the VF 9 is powered by an electric motor that delivers up to 300kW (402 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 620Nm. Its 92 kWh battery provides an impressive range of up to 438 kilometers on a single charge for the Eco version and 423 kilometers for the Plus version (based on WLTP standards). The SUV also supports fast DC charging, enabling a quick boost from 10% to 70% battery level in just 26 minutes.
