In May 2025, VinFast sold a total of 1,393 VF 6 electric cars to Vietnamese customers, a 20.9% decrease. Despite the sales decline, the VinFast VF 6 still outsold all other gasoline-powered models in the B-segment SUV category and maintained its leading position from the previous month.
VinFast VF 6
In addition, the VF 6 also made it to the top 10 best-selling cars in the overall market last month, ranking 5th. It is one of the three VinFast models in this top 10 list, along with the VF 5 and VF 3.
The VinFast VF 6 in Vietnam offers two versions: Eco and Plus, with battery-included prices ranging from VND 689 million to VND 749 million. Attractive pricing, along with low operating costs, are significant advantages of this VinFast electric car.
The Eco version of the VF 6 is equipped with an electric motor that produces 100 kW (approximately 134 horsepower) and 135 Nm of torque. The Plus version offers 150 kW (approximately 201 horsepower) and 310 Nm. Both versions use a 59.6 kWh LFP battery, delivering a range of 399 km for the Eco and 381 km for the Plus, according to the WLTP test cycle.
Toyota Yaris Cross: 1,073 units
Similar to April 2025, the Toyota Yaris Cross maintained its position as the second best-selling model in the B-segment SUV category. With 1,073 units sold, a slight decrease of 0.6%, the Yaris Cross is the top-selling B-segment SUV with an internal combustion engine. Within the Toyota family, the Yaris Cross is also the second best-selling model, only surpassed by the Vios.
Toyota Yaris Cross
This June, Toyota is offering a 50% discount on registration fees for the Yaris Cross, valued at VND 16.5 million to VND 38 million. Additionally, customers who purchase this B-segment SUV will receive gifts worth VND 16.5 million to VND 19 million. The total value of incentives for the Yaris Cross amounts to VND 57 million, which is quite attractive in this segment and is expected to boost sales this month.
The Toyota Yaris Cross is popular in Vietnam due to its affordable price range of VND 650 million to VND 765 million. It also boasts a well-known brand and ample equipment, even in the standard version. The most significant difference between the two versions of this B-segment SUV lies in their engines.
Specifically, the gasoline-powered version is equipped with a 1.5L four-cylinder engine that generates a maximum output of 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). On the other hand, the hybrid version features a 1.5L four-cylinder engine that produces 90 horsepower, combined with a 79-horsepower electric motor and a lithium-ion battery.
Toyota Corolla Cross: 885 units
Ranking right behind the Yaris Cross is its sibling, the Toyota Corolla Cross, with 885 units sold in May 2025, representing a remarkable 54.7% growth. Like the Yaris Cross, the Toyota Corolla Cross also made it to the top 10 best-selling cars in the Vietnamese market last month.
Toyota Corolla Cross
Compared to the Yaris Cross, the Toyota Corolla Cross is larger in size and slightly more expensive, with prices ranging from VND 820 million to VND 905 million. Additionally, it offers a spacious interior, numerous convenience and safety features, and a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain.
The Toyota Corolla Cross currently offers two engine options in Vietnam. The first is a 1.8L four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 140 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT-i). The second option is a hybrid system, comprising a 1.8L four-cylinder engine that generates 97 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque, along with an electric motor that delivers 72 horsepower and 163 Nm of torque. This hybrid system is paired with an e-CVT transmission.
Mitsubishi Xforce: 599 units
The Mitsubishi Xforce secured the fourth position in the B-segment SUV category, with 599 units sold, reflecting a 2.12% decrease.
Mitsubishi Xforce
In recent months, the Mitsubishi Xforce has lost some of its momentum and is no longer the best-selling model in the B-segment SUV category. To maintain its competitiveness, Mitsubishi has continuously offered various incentive programs for this SUV, and June 2025 is no exception.
This month, the Mitsubishi Xforce comes with a 50% discount on registration fees for the GLX, Premium, and Ultimate versions, valued at VND 30 million to VND 35.5 million. Additionally, fuel vouchers worth VND 15 million to VND 21 million are offered, depending on the version. The total value of incentives for this B-segment SUV ranges from VND 45 million to VND 55.5 million.

The Mitsubishi Xforce is powered by a 1.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive. The SUV offers four driving modes: Normal, Gravel, Mud, and Snow, in the higher-end versions.
Hyundai Creta: 474 units
The Hyundai Creta witnessed the most significant decline in sales within the B-segment SUV category in May, with only 474 units sold, reflecting a 55.2% decrease. Consequently, it dropped out of the top 10 best-selling cars in the overall market. This decline is not surprising, as May was the month preceding the launch of the new Creta model in Vietnam.
New Hyundai Creta
The previous-generation Hyundai Creta was priced between VND 599 million and VND 699 million. Meanwhile, the new model has seen a slight price increase, now ranging from VND 599 million to VND 705 million. However, the Creta has been significantly enhanced in terms of design and features.
The Hyundai Creta is equipped with a SmartStream 1.5L gasoline engine that delivers 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an intelligent continuously variable transmission (iVT) and front-wheel drive.
Honda HR-V: 376 units
May 2025 was not a prosperous month for the Honda HR-V, as sales declined by 16% to 376 units. Consequently, it slipped to a relatively low position within the B-segment SUV category.
In June, Honda is offering a 50% discount on registration fees for the standard G version of the HR-V, allowing customers to save VND 35 million in registration fees.
Honda HR-V
The Honda HR-V received an upgrade in April 2025, introducing a hybrid powertrain option. However, the new model continues to carry a relatively high price tag compared to its competitors, ranging from VND 699 million to VND 869 million.
The highlight of the new Honda HR-V is its hybrid powertrain. The range-topping e:HEV RS variant features a hybrid system comprising a 1.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 105 horsepower and an electric motor that delivers 129 horsepower. According to Honda, the HR-V e:HEV RS offers over 30% better fuel efficiency than its gasoline-only counterpart and provides smoother acceleration.
The remaining two variants of this B-segment SUV are equipped with a 1.5L i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque.
Kia Seltos: 346 units
The introduction of new B-segment SUV models in the Vietnamese market has significantly impacted the sales of the Kia Seltos. In recent times, the Seltos has consistently ranked low within its category. May 2025 was no exception, with the Seltos selling only 346 units, a 20.6% decrease.
Kia Seltos
In June 2025, THACO, the distributor of Kia vehicles in Vietnam, is offering discounts on all versions of the Seltos, ranging from VND 30 million to VND 55 million. After the discount, the Seltos is priced attractively from VND 569 million to VND 724 million.
In addition to its competitive pricing, the Kia Seltos stands out with the most versions available in the B-segment SUV category. It also boasts impressive design, convenience, and safety features.
