Recently, social media has been abuzz with images of a new SUV model that bears a striking resemblance to the VF 9, spotted within the premises of the VinFast factory.

Speculations are rife that this could be a special edition or an entirely new variant of the flagship VF 9 SUV. According to information from some sales consultants, this model is expected to be introduced around August 2025.

From the shared images, the new SUV sports a white paint job. It features a high-mounted LED positioning light in the shape of a “bird’s wing,” while the main headlights are lowered, along with a prominent grille-like detail on the front, despite it likely being an electric vehicle. Notably, this new SUV also boasts a golden logo prominently placed on the hood, reminiscent of luxury marques like Rolls-Royce.

Previously, a similarly styled SUV in black was also spotted, featuring the golden logo on the LED positioning light instead of the hood. At the rear, the vehicle sports a logo resembling wings, a stark departure from VinFast’s familiar “V” emblem. While it retains the signature LED taillights of the VF 9, the overall design of the front and rear ends showcases a distinct transformation.

These changes suggest that this is not merely a decorative upgrade but potentially a special variant with a unique design direction.

Prior to the emergence of these leaked images, VinFast’s official fanpage posted a short video with the message: “June 20 – Get ready for a different level of experience with VinFast VF 9,” accompanied by the phrase “Unique Essence.” However, the vehicle in the video remains the original VF 9, lacking the new design features circulating online.

This has sparked speculation as to whether this is a “unique” edition of the VF 9, similar to the “Fire Dragon” editions of the VF 7 and VF 8, or a comprehensive upgrade encompassing both interior and exterior enhancements.

According to sales consultants’ predictions, the new version of the VF 9 will not only differ in appearance but also undergo substantial interior upgrades, targeting a higher level of sophistication to cater to the demands of premium domestic and international customers.

The VinFast VF 9 is currently the largest and most luxurious electric SUV in the company’s lineup. Introduced in 2022, the VF 9 is sold not only in Vietnam but also in the US, Canada, and several European countries.

It boasts an impressive length, offering two interior configurations: a 6-seat layout (with captain chairs) or a 7-seater. Notable amenities include massaging seats with heating and cooling functions, rear-seat entertainment screens, tri-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and an advanced air filtration system.

The SUV is powered by an electric motor with a maximum output of up to 300kW (402 horsepower) and a peak torque of 620Nm. The VF 9’s battery pack has a capacity of up to 92 kWh, offering a range of approximately 438 kilometers on a single charge for the Eco version and 423 kilometers for the Plus version (based on WLTP standards). It also supports fast DC charging, enabling a charge from 10% to 70% in just 26 minutes.
