The Honda Super Cub Hello Kitty, previously launched in Japan for the 50th anniversary of the iconic character, has now made its way to Vietnam through a private dealer in Ho Chi Minh City.

This special edition Honda Super Cub is offered at a premium price of up to VND 150 million, equivalent to the cost of a large-displacement Honda SH 350i scooter.

The limited-edition model is a unique collaboration between Super Cub – Honda’s most famous motorcycle, and Hello Kitty, a globally beloved cartoon character. It is produced in Japan with two engine options: 50cc and 110cc, with the 50cc version currently available from the Vietnamese dealer.

The Super Cub Hello Kitty retains the classic design of the Cub series, featuring the distinctive round headlight and turn signals. It sports a vibrant red color – a signature of Hello Kitty, tastefully combined with adorable details: from the stylized Super Cub logo with a bow, to Hello Kitty’s image on the speedometer, key, and side panel.

Notably, the right-side body panel is made of embossed plastic with a character print, creating a more prominent look than a standard decal. Additionally, the seat is upholstered in contrasting brown and beige leather with red stitching, adding a “cute” aesthetic touch to this edition.

The Honda Super Cub Hello Kitty is equipped with a 49cc gasoline engine, delivering 3.7 horsepower and 3.8 Nm of torque. According to current Vietnamese regulations, individuals aged 16 and above can operate this vehicle without a driver’s license.

In the domestic market, this model is priced at approximately USD 2,268 (nearly VND 60 million). However, due to private import and limited availability in Vietnam, the selling price has doubled, even rivaling the cost of some high-end scooters.

While the VND 150 million price tag may be out of reach for most consumers, especially when compared to mainstream models in the same segment, the collectible nature, limited availability, and cultural symbolism make this vehicle appealing to enthusiasts seeking unique and quirky rides.
