The all-new Nissan Patrol, known as the Armada in the US market, was introduced in September 2024, and has now been joined by a high-performance Nismo variant. This new version offers more power, refined handling, a sportier suspension, and an emotionally-charged exhaust note.
Specifically, the new Nissan Patrol Nismo is equipped with a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline engine, producing a maximum output of 460 horsepower. This represents a 35 horsepower increase over the standard model. Although Nissan has not released torque figures, it is expected to remain at 700 Nm.
Nissan attributes the power boost in the Patrol Nismo to engine control software tweaks and valve timing adjustments. The revised exhaust system ensures a more audible engine note. Additionally, the Active Sound Enhancement system in the cabin enhances the engine’s sound, making it more engaging.

Furthermore, the Nismo variant features a revised electric power steering system for a sportier driving experience. The adaptive air suspension enhances the handling further, making the SUV more agile and responsive.
Not only is the Nissan Patrol Nismo more powerful, but it also receives exterior enhancements for a more aggressive appearance. While retaining the boxy shape and distinctive “E-shaped” LED daytime running lights, Nismo adds a sporty body kit, side steps, and a unique rear spoiler. The extended wheel arch cladding adds to the SUV’s robust presence. Additional exterior features include LED fog lights, 22-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tires, and striking red-painted brake calipers.

The interior of the Nismo variant features Nismo-exclusive leather upholstery with distinctive red accents against a predominantly black color scheme. The front seats are equipped with power-adjustable side bolsters to securely hold the driver and front passenger during aggressive cornering. Aluminum pedals and a multi-color interior ambient lighting system further enhance the sporty ambiance.

The latest Patrol continues the legacy of Nissan’s renowned 4×4 SUV, with over 1.9 million units sold globally across seven generations. In addition to the Nismo variant, the Patrol is offered in various trim levels, including SV, SL, Platinum, Pro-4X, and Platinum Reserve.
The standard Patrol models are also powered by a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine, generating 425 horsepower. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. All variants offer impressive towing capabilities, with a standard towing capacity of 3,855 kg.
The Pro-4X trim, a first for the Patrol, features terrain-specific tires, an off-road-focused front bumper design, underbody protection, an electronic locking differential, and an electronically controlled adaptive air suspension.
The Pro-4X stands out with its extended wheel arch cladding, 20-inch alloy wheels with a unique finish, and Lava Red accents on the exterior. Additionally, it offers an optional second-row captain’s chair configuration instead of the standard bench seat. Notably, the Nissan Patrol’s 12-speaker audio system is provided by the renowned Klipsch brand.
In 2024, several Nissan dealerships in Vietnam started accepting reservations for the Patrol, indicating its imminent launch in the local market. According to dealer information, the Nissan Patrol is expected to be introduced in Vietnam later this year, with an estimated price of around 4 billion VND, positioning it as a competitor to the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300.
