For larger families with four to five members or more, small sedans can feel a little cramped, especially when it comes to luggage space for longer trips. This is where SUVs and MPVs with seven seats come into their own, offering spacious cabins and ample storage.

Here are some suggestions from Tri Thức – Znews for vehicles that cater to larger families, all priced under VND 800 million.

Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross

The Mitsubishi Xpander has been a popular choice for families since its release in Vietnam in August 2018. This MPV ticks almost every box for a seven-seater family car and has consistently topped sales charts in its segment.

In 2020, Mitsubishi introduced the Xpander Cross, an SUV variant of the Xpander, which also gained immense popularity. The Xpander measures 4,475 x 1,750 x 1,730 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. The Xpander Cross has similar dimensions, with a slightly higher height of 1,750 mm.

The Mitsubishi Xpander has a starting price of VND 555 million, while the Xpander Cross is priced at VND 698 million. Mitsubishi Vietnam often offers promotions on these models, including discounts on registration fees, fuel vouchers, and complimentary panoramic cameras.

In May 2024, the Xpander AT Premium and Xpander Cross benefited from promotions worth VND 28-33 million (excluding gifts), while the Xpander MT received similar benefits for the 2024 production model (VIN 2024).

Toyota Veloz Cross and Innova

The Toyota Veloz Cross is another excellent option for larger families, with a fuel efficiency of around 5.1-6.9 liters/100 km for the petrol version. Toyota often offers promotions on this model, including discounts on registration fees.

The Veloz Cross is priced between VND 638-668 million. With the current promotion, buyers can save around VND 32-33 million.

For those seeking even more space, the Innova 2.0E with an eight-seat configuration is a great choice. The Innova offers a more spacious interior than the Veloz Cross but has a lower ground clearance of 178 mm compared to the Veloz Cross’s 205 mm. It also has a more substantial presence and weighs in at 1,700 kg. The Innova is priced at VND 755 million in Vietnam.

MG G50

The recently launched MG G50 is an excellent value proposition, offering generous dimensions for its price. With a length of 4,825 mm, a width of 1,825 mm, and a height of 1,800 mm, along with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm, the G50 is larger than most MPVs in the popular segment, approaching the size of mid-range MPVs.

This translates to a comfortable cabin for all three rows of seats, even for adults over 1.7 m tall in the third row. The MG G50 is available in three variants, priced between VND 559-749 million. However, the base MT model is geared more towards ride-hailing services and lacks certain interior features.

GAC M6 Pro

The GAC M6 Pro is another worthy contender in the seven-seater segment, offering a blend of Chinese-style opulence and practicality. With dimensions of 4,793 x 1,837 x 1,765 mm and a wheelbase of 2,810 mm, the M6 Pro provides a spacious cabin that comfortably accommodates seven to eight adults, along with a generous 324-liter trunk.

In Vietnam, the GAC M6 Pro is available in two variants: the 1.5T GS priced at VND 699 million and the 1.5T GL priced at VND 799 million. The GL variant stands out with its panoramic sunroof, a rare feature in this class of MPVs.
