May brought about a flurry of exciting promotions and discounts in the Vietnamese automotive market, with car brands offering enticing deals to support customers looking to purchase a vehicle for their summer travels. SUVs, with their versatile functionality, attractive designs, and high ground clearance, have been a popular choice among Vietnamese car buyers. This month, several SUV models are offering impressive discounts of up to hundreds of millions of VND.

Subaru SUV Deals: Savings of Up to Hundreds of Millions

Subaru’s B- and C-segment SUVs in Vietnam, the Crosstrek and Forester, have been consistently offering attractive promotions. The current batch of Subaru Forester vehicles, imported from Thailand, are the last of their kind before the model switches to Japanese imports. Dealers are offering substantial discounts of 170 to 230 million VND on the three available versions, with prices now ranging from 799 to 969 million VND. The highest discount is for the Forester 2.0 i-S EyeSight, while the base model Forester 2.0 i-L receives a 170 million VND reduction.

Making its debut at the VMS 2024, the Subaru Crosstrek, priced at 1,098 to 1,268 billion VND, is one of the most expensive B-segment SUVs in the Vietnamese market. This month, the Japanese-imported model is offering discounts of 99 to 139 million VND, bringing the price down to 999 million VND for the 2.0 i-S EyeSight and 1,129 billion VND for the 2.0 i-S EyeSight e-Boxer Hybrid versions.

Additionally, customers who purchase the Subaru Crosstrek this month will receive a complimentary electric trunk upgrade worth 19.5 million VND.

Skoda: Cash Gifts and More

Prior to the launch of the locally assembled Skoda Kushaq, the Czech brand currently offers two SUV models in Vietnam: the Karoq and Kodiaq, both imported from Europe. The recently launched new-generation Skoda Kodiaq is available in two versions, priced at 1.45 to 1.495 billion VND.

Throughout May, Skoda is offering promotions on its entire SUV range in Vietnam, including cash discounts of up to 200 million VND, a five-year warranty extension (or 150,000 km), and free maintenance for the first year.

Customers will also receive a range of genuine accessories, including a set of four alloy wheels, pedal covers, door sills, side steps, floor mats, and rear headrests, depending on the model and vehicle type.

The Skoda Karoq is currently available in two versions, priced at 999 million and 1,089 billion VND. In addition to the new-generation models, there are still some older-generation Skoda Kodiaq units available, priced at 1,189 billion VND for the Ambition version and 1,409 billion VND for the Style version.

Korean SUVs: Discounts of Tens of Millions

Kia is also offering promotions on its range of vehicles in Vietnam this month, including popular SUV models such as the Sonet, Seltos, Sportage, and Sorento.

The Kia Sorento, a D-segment SUV, offers discounts of up to 80 million VND, bringing the starting price down to 899 million VND for the 2.2D Luxury version.

Its smaller sibling, the Kia Sportage, receives a discount of 40 million VND on diesel-powered versions, resulting in a reduced price of 899 million VND.

Kia’s urban SUV offerings, the Sonet and Seltos, also join the discount party. The Kia Sonet’s Luxury and Deluxe versions receive the highest discount of 30 million VND, while the Premium version gets a 15 million VND reduction.

Most versions of the Kia Seltos in Vietnam are discounted by 20 million VND this month, except for the 1.5L Luxury, which enjoys a larger discount of 35 million VND, bringing its price down to 664 million VND from 699 million VND.

As of April, Kia has sold a total of 8,255 passenger cars in Vietnam, with the Sonet, Seltos, and Carnival leading the sales charts, each contributing 1,703, 1,753, and 1,710 units, respectively.

Japanese SUVs: Registration Fee Support

In the B-segment SUV category, the Mitsubishi Xforce and Toyota Yaris Cross engaged in an intriguing sales race last year.

Both Mitsubishi and Toyota are now offering promotions in the form of registration fee support for these models. Mitsubishi is offering discounts equivalent to 32 to 35.5 million VND for the Xforce, while Toyota is providing discounts of 33 to 38 million VND for the Yaris Cross.

Toyota is also offering a similar promotion for the Corolla Cross, with registration fee support equivalent to 41 million VND for the 1.8V and 46 million VND for the 1.8HEV versions.

Honda is providing a 50% registration fee support for the L and G versions of the CR-V, valued at 51.5 to 55 million VND for these locally assembled C-segment SUV models, priced at 1,029 to 1,099 billion VND.

The Mazda CX-5, Vietnam’s best-selling pure gasoline C-segment SUV, is offering cash discounts of 30 to 35 million VND for all 2.0L versions produced in 2025. After the discount, the Mazda CX-5 now starts at 714 million VND for the 2.0 Deluxe and goes up to 839 million VND for the 2.0 Premium Exclusive.

For the 2024-produced Mazda CX-5 2.0 Premium Sport and 2.0 Premium Exclusive versions, the discount this month increases to 25 million VND. According to Thaco, customers who purchase the CX-5 in May will also receive a service voucher worth up to 15 million VND.
