The Toyota Century, the flagship SUV from the Japanese brand, has recently been upgraded with notable features.
The 2025 Toyota Century is equipped with three-level adjustable privacy glass, providing maximum privacy and convenience for rear passengers.
Toyota’s privacy glass technology allows quick switching between three display modes: transparent, semi-opaque, and fully opaque. The system works based on an electronic film layer placed between two bonded glass panes. When a voltage is applied, the particles in the film change their arrangement, creating an in-opaque effect at the user’s preference.
The advantage of this technology is that it maintains natural light, creating a spacious feeling while ensuring privacy. However, the panoramic sunroof still uses a traditional curtain and does not incorporate privacy glass.
The Century SUV is inherently an ultra-luxury vehicle for “bosses” with personal chauffeurs. Hence, all the design intricacies are focused on the rear-seat area.
The Century boasts a range of high-end amenities, including automatic running boards, extended rear doors, support handles, flat-reclining seats with extended leg rests, folding tables, and antimicrobial materials for optimal hygiene.
Each passenger is provided with an individual entertainment screen, a separate control panel, and an immersive audio experience through an 18-speaker premium sound system.
Although it is an upgraded model, the overall design of the 2025 Toyota Century SUV remains largely unchanged. The vehicle continues to exude elegance, discreetness, and grandeur—characteristic of the upper-class Japanese line. With a total length of 5,205 mm, streamlined lines, and elegant personalization options, it is often likened to the “Japanese version of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan” in Japan due to its minimalist yet classy design philosophy.
Under the hood, the 2025 Toyota Century is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a 3.5L V6 engine that produces 406 horsepower. This powertrain is paired with the E-Four Advanced all-wheel-drive system and a battery that enables the vehicle to travel up to 69 km in pure electric mode.
Moreover, Toyota has confirmed the upcoming release of the GR Century SUV, developed by its Gazoo Racing division. This version targets customers who appreciate a sporty style while still valuing opulence.
With the inclusion of smart glass as standard equipment, the starting price of the Century has increased by 2 million yen, bringing the total price to approximately 27 million yen (equivalent to 4.79 billion VND). However, production remains limited, and sales are exclusive to select dealerships in Japan, primarily catering to existing owners of the traditional Century sedan.
