The tranquil town of Båstad, a municipality and seat of the larger Båstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden, was abuzz with excitement over the past few days as it played host to a supercar event. And the center of attention was none other than the breathtaking Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear.

According to Christian von Koenigsegg, the new supercar is “destined to set records,” and it has proven to be 1.1 seconds faster than the Jesko Attack at the Gotland Ring in Sweden. And when it comes to pricing, it almost doubles that of its predecessor, coming in at a staggering $5.2 million, with only 30 units set to be produced instead of 125.

The twin-turbocharged V8 engine in the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear benefits from a new calibration and improved cooling. As a result, it produces 1,300 horsepower when using regular unleaded gasoline and a staggering 1,625 horsepower when fueled with E85.

This represents an increase of 20 and 25 horsepower, respectively, over the Jesko Attack. The Sadair’s Spear’s power is still transmitted to the rear wheels through Koenigsegg’s Light Speed Transmission (LST) system, which does not require a clutch and is operated exclusively via paddles behind the steering wheel.

Moving on to weight, the Sadair’s Spear is 35 kg lighter than the Jesko, surpassing the 1:1 power-to-weight ratio of its predecessor, the Koenigsegg One:1. Of course, there’s a race-focused chassis setup, with lighter springs and the company’s own Triplex front dampers, combined with improved multi-layer carbon-ceramic brakes featuring more robust material for the brake pads.

Lastly, Koenigsegg has improved the aerodynamic efficiency of the Jesko, largely thanks to a new active two-wing rear spoiler. This spoiler is said to generate more downforce, along with subtle underfloor strakes and wheel arch vents.

The rear end is slightly longer, while the front spoiler, vents, hood scoops, and side intakes have been redesigned for better cooling. Furthermore, there are new Aircore carbon fiber wheels with a turbine-inspired design, unique at each corner. These are fitted with wider, race-focused tires.
