Hyundai Reveals First Images of the Updated 2025 Stargazer

As planned, the 2025 Hyundai Stargazer will make its official debut at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in July 2025.

Based on the shared images, the 2025 Stargazer features significant exterior improvements. The front of the vehicle sports a bold design with a large grille, raised headlights, and a higher-positioned hood, complemented by a black roof rack.

In contrast, the rear end has been streamlined with H-shaped taillights, giving it a sturdier appearance and an SUV-like vibe, departing from the current version’s rounded styling, which has been criticized for being too futuristic and lacking robustness.

Although detailed information has not yet been released, the 2025 Hyundai Stargazer is expected to offer substantial upgrades in the cabin. Initial reports suggest that it may feature a larger touchscreen, a 360-degree camera, electrically adjustable captain’s seats in the second row, and an enhanced ADAS system.

However, the powertrain is likely to remain unchanged, retaining the 1.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine paired with a CVT transmission.

It is unclear whether the 2025 Stargazer will entirely replace the Stargazer X or simply be an additional offering in the lineup. Nonetheless, it is highly probable that this model will soon be introduced to the Vietnamese market following its launch in Indonesia, continuing to compete in the affordable MPV segment against rivals such as the Mitsubishi Xpander, Toyota Veloz Cross, and Suzuki XL7.

In Vietnam, the Hyundai Stargazer X, introduced in April 2024, boasts an impressive array of features and competitive pricing. However, its sales performance has fallen short of expectations, averaging only 440 units per month in 2024, significantly lower than the segment-leading Xpander.

The substantial design changes in the 2025 Stargazer are expected to restore its competitiveness in the vibrant affordable MPV segment. With its SUV-inspired styling, modern amenities, competitive resale value, and the potential to be a compelling choice for young families and fleet customers, the 2025 Hyundai Stargazer could become a popular option in the coming months.
