A car enthusiast from Quang Tri province recently shared images of a Bentley Continental Flying Spur and a Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG parked together on a street in the province, capturing the attention of car enthusiasts nationwide.
It takes a true connoisseur to own not just one but two of the most fuel-guzzling sedans in the world. The Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, in particular, stands out with its sleek silver paint job and the unique license plate 01234, the first in a series of “dragon-number” plates.
The Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, owned by a Quang Tri businessman, belongs to the fifth generation of this esteemed model. When it was introduced to the Vietnamese market in 2009, it boasted a price tag of over 7 billion VND, a substantial sum for a luxury vehicle in the country at that time.
This particular model is equipped with state-of-the-art features, including night vision, customizable interior lighting, massage seats, and a rear-seat refrigerator. It also sports 20-inch AMG wheels, a step up from the standard 19-inch version.
The center LCD screen offers a unique Split View function, allowing the driver and front passenger to view different content simultaneously. The entertainment system comprises a 6-disc CD/DVD changer, a Harman/Kardon Logic 7 audio setup with 14 speakers, and a powerful 600-watt subwoofer.
Additional amenities include a panoramic sunroof, premium Passion leather upholstery, a heated and cooled AMG-designed steering wheel, and larger shift paddles. The vehicle also incorporates ABC body control to isolate the chassis and floor from road reactions.
Under the hood, the fifth-generation Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG is powered by a hand-built 6.2-liter V8 engine, producing an impressive 525 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque. This high-performance sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The Bentley Continental Flying Spur, on the other hand, sports a unique brown and black exterior paint job and bears a Laotian license plate. As a first-generation model, it is equipped with Bentley’s renowned 6.0-liter W12 engine, delivering a massive 552 horsepower and 649 Nm of torque. This ultra-luxurious sedan can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 314 km/h.
