The all-new Mazda CX-5 has officially launched on July 10, 2025. PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI), the distributor of Mazda in Indonesia, has now provided an update on the new CX-5’s potential launch in the Indonesian market.
Mr. Ricky Thio, Executive Director of PT EMI, clarified that the event on July 10, 2025, was solely for the European market. The compact SUV will subsequently be introduced to global markets in a phased manner.
“The launch of the all-new Mazda CX-5 on July 10, 2025, was for the European market, with sales planned to commence later this year. This is part of Mazda’s strategy to introduce the new model to global regions in a phased approach,” Mr. Ricky shared with Indonesian journalists on July 21, 2025.
The pre-order phase for the European market will begin in the third quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, the Asian debut of the CX-5 will kick off in Japan, with sales expected to start in 2026.
Mr. Ricky also revealed that the new Mazda CX-5 is expected to arrive in Indonesia next year. “For the Indonesian market, the launch is planned for the end of 2026,” he added.
In the initial global rollout, the Mazda CX-5 will be equipped with the Skyactiv-G 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, delivering a maximum output of 187 horsepower and a peak torque of 251 Nm. The SUV offers a choice of front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) systems.
Additionally, the CX-5 is likely to feature the e-Skyactiv-G 2.5L 4-cylinder engine option, paired with mild hybrid 24V technology, generating 140 horsepower and 238 Nm of torque.
In terms of design, the compact SUV retains a familiar look, evolving from the previous generation. It showcases Mazda’s signature Kodo design language, featuring a large 7-point grille, sleek headlights forming a wing shape, a sportier front bumper, L-shaped taillights, 19-inch alloy wheels, and dual round exhaust pipes.
The 2026 Mazda CX-5 exudes a sense of familiarity in its design.
Compared to its predecessor, the new CX-5 is 115 mm longer, 15 mm wider, and 15 mm taller, with a 76 mm longer wheelbase. Specifically, the 2026 Mazda CX-5 boasts dimensions of 4,690 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,695 mm in height, and a 2,760 mm wheelbase.
The enlarged dimensions translate to a more spacious interior. The SUV also offers enhanced convenience and modern features, including a large center touchscreen ranging from 12.9 to 15.6 inches, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and a Bose 12-speaker audio system.
Following the trend, Mazda equips the CX-5 with a large touchscreen.
As for the Vietnamese market, customers may have to wait a considerable amount of time before they can purchase the all-new Mazda CX-5. Previously, the mid-cycle refresh of the CX-5 also arrived in Vietnam a few years after its Indonesian debut.

With these concurrent developments, Mazda aims to offer distinct options that cater to a range of preferences and lifestyles.
