In a surprising move, Ford Vietnam has announced the upcoming launch of the high-performance electric SUV Mustang Mach-E in the Vietnamese market on August 15, 2025.

This announcement is a special initiative to commemorate Ford’s 30th anniversary in Vietnam (1995–2025), marking a significant milestone for the American automotive brand in its journey across Southeast Asia.

Even without disclosing specific versions and detailed technical specifications, this news has quickly garnered attention from the domestic automotive community. The Mustang Mach-E is Ford’s first all-electric SUV, boasting a sporty design that combines dynamic performance with luxurious comfort. Its inclusion in Ford’s official lineup underscores the brand’s commitment to accelerating electrification in Vietnam, aligning with the growing preference for electric vehicles.

Prior to its official distribution, the Ford Mustang Mach-E had already made its way to Vietnam through unofficial import channels. Two units of the Mustang Mach-E GT, the range-topping variant, were brought into the country, one in Hanoi and the other in Ho Chi Minh City. Initially, the vehicle was offered at approximately 4.5 billion VND, but after nearly two years, the price has dropped to over 3 billion VND.

First unveiled globally in November 2019, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is an all-new compact electric SUV that retains the design DNA of the iconic Mustang muscle car. The name “Mach-E” pays homage to the legendary Mach 1 version of the first-generation Mustang, blending tradition with modern technology.

The Mustang Mach-E stands out with its sharp LED headlights, aggressive front bumper, and sporty side skirts. It rides on 20-inch (front) and 21-inch (rear) multi-spoke alloy wheels, complemented by red Brembo brakes that emphasize its performance credentials. Despite the absence of a traditional exhaust system, the Mach-E features a rear diffuser, maintaining a sporty aesthetic.

One notable detail is the absence of conventional door handles. Instead, users simply press a button to open the doors, enhancing the modern, minimalist, and refined experience.

Step inside, and you’ll find a spacious cabin with five seats and ample cargo space, accommodating multiple suitcases or a set of golf clubs. It caters to families and individuals who enjoy sports, travel, and an active lifestyle.

The GT variant, previously imported unofficially into Vietnam, represents the most potent configuration in the Mach-E lineup. It is equipped with two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 480 horsepower and 860 Nm of torque. This enables the SUV to sprint from 0–100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

The 88 kWh battery provides an impressive range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge, as per the WLTP standard. When using a DC fast-charging station, the Mustang Mach-E can charge from 10% to 80% in just 45 minutes, offering significant convenience for long-distance travelers.

The official introduction of the Ford Mustang Mach-E in Vietnam not only enriches the premium electric SUV segment but also signifies Ford’s strategic shift in Southeast Asia, where electric vehicles are becoming the predominant trend.
