A luxurious street in Hanoi is abuzz with the sight of a stunning Audi R8 supercar and the one-of-a-kind Hummer H1 Alpha pickup truck. The rare pairing of these automotive powerhouses has left onlookers in awe.
Owning a garage with a supercar like the Audi R8 and a behemoth like the unique Hummer H1 Alpha in Vietnam is the ultimate flex for car enthusiasts.
The German-made two-door sports car is one of the two most extensively modified Audi R8s in Vietnam, with the other being located in Hanoi but reportedly not in the best of health. This Audi R8, on the other hand, boasts a factory engine and impeccable specifications that deliver an exhilarating driving experience.
The standout feature of this Audi R8 is the Regula body kit, which gives it a more aggressive stance than the stock model. The side vents are not just three horizontal bars; instead, they are enlarged air intakes with black-painted honeycomb mesh.
This Audi R8 with the Regula body kit has been upgraded with the 2018 model’s LED headlights and taillights, adding to its character and visual appeal. The enlarged front air intakes not only contribute to the car’s aggressive aesthetic but also enhance its aerodynamic performance.
Carbon fiber accents are scattered throughout the exterior, accentuating the white bodywork while significantly reducing weight. This Audi R8 with the Regula body kit sits on a new set of Oxigin wheels, finished in black, complementing the overall look.
The Audi R8’s engine remains untouched, featuring a 4.2-liter V8 that produces 420 horsepower at 7,800 rpm and 430 Nm of torque between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm in its original form. Coupled with a 7-speed transmission, this powertrain enables the supercar to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 301 km/h. The exhaust system has been upgraded to an Akrapovic unit.
The Hummer H1 Alpha, on the other hand, was previously owned by a group of unique car enthusiasts in Hanoi, who also possess a modified Hummer H2. The Hummer H1 is a large, rugged four-wheel-drive vehicle based on the M998 Humvee, developed by AM General when it was a subsidiary of American Motors Corporation (AMC). Initially designed for military use, a commercial version was later introduced to the market.
The commercial version was produced from 1992 to 2006 and marked the first generation of Hummer vehicles. AM General manufactured both the H1 and the Humvee at its facility in Mishawaka, Indiana. While GM discontinued marketing the H1 in the 2006 model year, AM General continued to produce the military Humvee until 2018.
Powered by a 6.6-liter Duramax V8 turbo-diesel engine, the Hummer H1 Alpha generates 300 horsepower and an impressive 705 Nm of torque, coupled with a 5-speed automatic transmission. With such a robust powertrain, the Hummer H1 Alpha excels in off-road capabilities, able to wade through 762 mm of water and offering a ground clearance of 406 mm.
