Celebrating 50 years since the introduction of the 911 Turbo, Porsche has unveiled a special edition model named the “911 Turbo 50 Years”.
As such, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is limited to just 1,974 units globally, paying homage to the year the Turbo variant first debuted.
In Vietnam, two units have already arrived, both privately owned and with unique serial numbers. The car that has just landed in Vietnam is the 499th out of the total 1,974 units produced globally.
The Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years retains the iconic sports car silhouette of the 911 range but is enhanced with exclusive details to commemorate its rich half-century heritage. Notably, it features a side decal inspired by the 1974 RSR Turbo concept – the original prototype that paved the way for the commercial Turbo models. Additionally, the number “63” is featured on the car’s flanks, symbolizing the year 1963 when the Porsche 911 was officially born.
The car is fitted with 20-inch five-spoke Sport Classic wheels at the front and 21-inch at the rear, finished in a two-tone white and silver color scheme, part of a personalized package costing over 1 billion VND.
This special Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years also features center lock wheels – a technology usually reserved for race cars or high-performance supercars, allowing for quicker and safer wheel changes. Details such as the Porsche crest on the hood, steering wheel, and alloys feature a classic design from the 1970s. Furthermore, the rear engine lid boasts a commemorative 50th-anniversary badge in white and gold hues.
The rear end design stands out with “Turbo 50” and “Porsche” lettering in elegant gold plating. The LED taillights are smoked, adding a unique touch to this anniversary edition.
Inside, the cabin of the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years evokes a nostalgic ambiance with Tartan-patterned fabric seats, reminiscent of the 1973 911 RSR Turbo concept. This interior style was previously seen in limited editions such as the 911 Sport Classic and 911 Spirit 70. This pattern is also echoed on the dashboard and door panels, complemented by Turbonite trim – an exclusive grey metallic and copper alloy blend for the Turbo range.
The passenger-side dashboard is inscribed with the unique serial number 499/1974, along with the “Turbo 50” badge. The car also comes with the Sport Chrono package, which includes features such as Launch Control, an analog stopwatch, a racing-inspired gear lever, and driving modes integrated into the steering wheel.
In terms of performance, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is powered by a 3.7L twin-turbo flat-six engine, generating 650 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed PDK transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, propelling the car from 0-100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 330 km/h.
In the Vietnamese market, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is officially imported from Germany, with a standard price of approximately 18.7 billion VND. However, the car featured here has been enhanced with numerous optional extras, pushing its total value above 20 billion VND.
