In a recent incident on the Purbachal Expressway in Dhaka, Bangladesh, a Rolls-Royce Spectre, the British marque’s first ultra-luxury electric vehicle, was involved in a severe accident.

This may have been the first recorded crash of the Spectre since its global launch in 2023.

According to a video circulating on social media, the temporary-plated car, marked “AFR – Applied For Registration,” appears to have lost control while traveling at high speed, veering into the divider and then overturning. Images from the scene reveal extensive damage to the front end, with the body severely bent and significant damage to the windshield, doors, fenders, rear bumper, and roof.

It is understood that the supercar is owned by Mr. Abdur Sabur, Chairman of Masko Group. At the time of the accident, the car was being driven by Ahmed Arif Billah, Mr. Sabur’s son. Mr. Sabur and two other passengers were also in the car. Ahmed Arif Billah sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital, while the others escaped with minor injuries.

Despite the significant impact, the car’s main frame remained intact, and the airbags deployed in time, showcasing the impressive passenger protection capabilities of this model.

In Bangladesh, the Rolls-Royce Spectre is priced at approximately 15 crore Taka (equivalent to 32.76 billion VND).

The Spectre is the first electric car in the 120-year history of the iconic British luxury brand. Its design takes clear inspiration from the Wraith and Phantom but with a wider and lower stance, resulting in a more prominent sporting profile.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre is powered by an electric motor that delivers a maximum output of 430 kW (approximately 576 hp) and a peak torque of 900 Nm. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Under the CLTC testing cycle in China, the car is capable of traveling up to 585 km on a full charge. Meanwhile, under the EPA testing cycle in the US, the Spectre offers a range of 515 km.
